Track Day at MIR - 10/08/07
I told Jody, I was seriously considering bringing the R500 and tracking that instead. I was gonna bring a foldout table, a steamer, crabs and corn and do it up right! But the wife asked me to leave her the truck...er...minivan...er station wagon. Whatever the hell it is, so she could bounce around our son all day.
Anyway, had blast and I'm tending to my wounds with aloe. But it's the R500 next time for sure.
Btw, what was up with the GT2 running 11.X@128? I saw it running 12.4@114 for several passes -- was it the silver one? How did the GT40 do?
I had RA1's on befor eand they hooked well but the BFG's are a whole nother ball game. They HOOK!The silver GT2 ran 11.06 @ 128. You must have been getting the silver GT2 and silver 996TT confused.
Guys veterans day is Nov. 11th and some people get that monday the 12th off. I think I will do the next event then.
Thanks E55Jay...DONE! BFGs and 18.4lb rears on the way. When I pick up another 1-2 mph perhaps we can run from a roll on video on the street

Yeah I don't think I saw you either...How did your car run?
That GT2 must have had K-24s or something on it.

I dont think the GT2 had upgraded turbos. I can ask him.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Any idea what size drag radial he was running? I'm looking to buy some wheels and drag radials for the strip, and as far as I've been told, the C55 and CLK55 can fit the same wheel and tire. However, I'm lowered 1.2" in the back, not sure how much he's lowered.

The turbo BMW's going 10.6x and one of them I believe trapped as high as 142!
It was nice meeting everyone (I felt like I was meeting some living legends) and also good seeign familiar faces. Sorry the weather didnt cooperate but I will set up another one in a month or two. I'm open to dates if anyone has any suggestions. Also if anyone felt like I should do something differently next time please let me know. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did (even though I only got 3 passes due to big tires).
Wow YOU GUYS RULE!!!!
what happened to the 63 vs 55 matchup? No 63 times to report?
Any stock 55 times?
That C55 time is RIDICULOUS!!! I wish I could see a scan of the slip, 60 ft time etc?
Your DA was very very similar if not IDENTICAL to what we had at California Speedway on 9/21/2007, looks like a range of 1300-2300 ft. Weird that it did not cool off . such a great event and I PROMISE I will make it out at least once.
Rflow: WOW you are nearly as crazy as me, and drove a million miles to be there, much respect to you man.
all you guys inspire me.
What the hell happened yesterday to MBWORLD, it was like the twilight zone, website *poof* very very scary

I dont think that race ever happened. Only one E63 showed up and that was Xabo. I dont remember what times he ran, hopefully he will chime in.
Yea that was pretty weird yesterday with mbworld gone. I thought I had a virus or something!
You ARE THE MAN!!!
I really appreciate what you did.
I also cleaned my cookies as Jrocket suggested , and erased half my hard drive attempting re-entry

Great event and looks like some real amazing runs despite atmospheric probs.
what time did you guys start and finish?

Are you banned on m5board as well? They banned my IP address at work AND at home lol. All for posting one of Gustavs pm's on this board
I gave an open invite there before I was banned but noone showed up at the track. I wonder why
We were supposed to start at 9am but the track wasn't prepped yet and we had a "drivers meeting" until about 10am. Some people ran all the way until 5pm.

1267 at 10am and 2230 at 5pm OUCH.
Great time again guys, thanks for letting me enjoy the party
I am showing temps in the 80's during the runs. The temp variance is less important than the barometer. Still for MIR its likely one of the worst atmospheric days you could get. 2300 for an 80ft track is similar to the 5k days we see here in So cal. start at 2700 feet then add in heat, you guys had a S U C K Y day for making HP.
anyone with a temp reading or barometric pressure reading from the track (Adam)? I could get you a more accurate #. Anyone do a DA reading prior to the runs?
Like I said some REALLY great runs for the condition presented. what was tthe best 60 ft?
