Toyo Proxies
I love the Toyo Proxies I'm running, but I just happened to get a large nail in one of the rear tires. I need a replacement, but it seems that not many places cases carry Toyos. Does anybody know why Toyos are so hard to find?
I have 275/35ZR18 99Y if that helps. I even tried most of the online retailers. Tirerack.com doesn't carry them amd most of the other ones are sold out or on back order.
Any tips on finding one would be great, especially in the Bay Area.
Also, can you patch Z rated tires? Some people say you can, others say its not worth it, especially if you drive very fast.

as long as it's a simple puncture within the tread pattern and not along the sidewall, a properly installed radial patch should keep you in business (although some would recommend against testing the top speed rating with a repaired tire). i wouldn't trust a plug except to allow me to limp to a repair shop.

Do you think I should ask for them to match the price to 180 anyway?
The tire will be delivered on Tuesday, so I have some time.

I ended up going to California Wheels as it was the ONLY local (to me) dealer to have these available and it's only 10 minutes from me. They gave me a good price I think...$230 for the wheel (online 180-190 plus 30-40 for shipping) and another $40 for mounting/balancing/install/taxes etc. for a total of $270)
