What's running when I open the door in the morning?

What's running when I open the door in the morning?
In the monring when I first open the door on my '06' E55 there is the sound of something running in the front of the car. It sounds like an electric motor or pump and it only runs for a moment or two and shuts off. The key is NOT in the ignition when this occurs.

Is this normal? What is it?

Mine does that when I hit the unlock button on the FOB. Is the pump really loud?

It's loud enough to hear from inside the car with the door shut!

I'm not sure exactly what triggers the noise but I only notice it on the first start up of the day as I'm getting into the car.

Another thing I noticed is sometimes when parked, suspension makes an air blow an levels but not always, any ideas why and criteria for that?
