Getting sick and tired of laying on the floor working on this thing.
Had the garage door opener moved and installed an opener that works on the post of the door. So with bout 11 foot ceilings, I won't be able to stand under her, but darn close.
Lift would run around 1295.00
Other than running 220 to the garage, any other problems you think I would run into. Obviously gotta have the posts REALLY secure so I would need a pro to come in a drill the concrete.
Other than that....

Here is my car in my dad's garage....
edit: I can stand up under it. Also, it doesn't have to be bolted to the floor. It's called Backyard Buddy. Search google for their website.

Check the concrete. It needs to be strong enough and thick enough or a post can easily punch a hole in it. When I did my garage, we spec'ed 4000 psi concrete with minimum 5" thickness. When the boys from Rotary came out to install the lift, they were real happy with the concrete . . .
Cool....thanks for the info guys!!
Checking on that 4 post now.

Thanks brotha. The garage height in the pic is about 13.5 ft. But it doesn't have to be that tall. I can fit my denali on top and the E55 on the bottom with that setup. If your garage is shorter its not really a problem and you could still be OK with two cars, not one car and one SUV. There are notches on the legs that let you raise the car to basically any height desired. Originally Posted by ROCKETW19

The key is getting the garage door rails and hardware moved to the ceiling so the garage can still open with a car up top.

I can see where the Backyard Buddy would be nice for getting an extra space, but how do you take the wheels off with the car on this lift?
Yeah, that's kinda what I am thinking too. Nice 4 post though.
The caster option on that is wild. Video of the guy pushing it around the shop with the car on it.

The rotary lifts and some other brands as well, offer a center lift where you can raise the car while its on the 4 leg lifts. Not sure if I like that idea but its a thought.I still like the simple 2 leg lifts, more room to work around and under the car.
I like this one...

...takes up minimal space - I think the arms come off completely so its completely hiden when not used ... and you can get to all parts of the car underneath.
What ceiling height you reckon you need to be able to stand freely under the car?

I've got both a two post frame lift and a four post drive on lift. If I could only have one, I'd take the frame lift as it's the most versitile but the drive on is the easiest for most small jobs.
Highly recomend a lift for home use. Once you have one, you will never work on your back again. Get a compressor and basic air tools as well. You won't regret it.

I like the REVOLUTION lift from Rotary, more for the home guy, not quite as industrial. Plus different colors.
