DTM 3.06 Gear and DTM TCU...

Jakpros...2.82 experience and his advice...got ME thinking about 3.06 gear ratio from CLK DTM...

We could also get CLK DTM TCU and it should be a good combo...the car be a killer at any speed and would much better in 1/4 with DR...

So I am thiking of doing this modifications 3.06 gear along with Qualife Diff and CLK DTM TCU...

What do you think guys is it possible, will it work well...or extra shift in 1/4 wont help ME...

Your car will hit the rev limiter at ~196mph ... not enuf is it for for Vmax - or maybe just enuf - think M5/6's run to 202/203?

For qtr the extra shift on the auto is not so bad as a stick ... but the problem is 4th gear - its veeery long gap from 3rd ... so the extra shift will erode allot of what you gain earlier on asumming you can get it to hook up ok...

I think 2.82 is nice fit ... 3.06 not so sure.

OK, let me clarify something first. I have no experience with a 2.82 versus 3.06 gears with E55's...

However, being an old Mustang 5.0 guy (lots of 'em on this forum) I will tell you not to get your expectations too high. A 2.73 rear-end Mustang and 3.08, 3.27, or 3.55 geared car ran almost identical from a roll. The biggest difference would be on the strip out of the hole.

On the street with the E55 you will have a tough time hooking-up in first gear. From a roll a 2.82 and 3.06 car will be virtually identical - perhaps you will notice a bit of difference in 3rd/4th gear (like a fender) but that is it.

So, if you plan to put slicks on your car for the strip good move. But on the street you will spin too much if in 1st gear.

The gears will make the car SEEM faster, though...

Thanks buddy MT have arrived TODAY !!!

Its true about 3.06...Anyone drove CLK DTM ??? What ratio does SLR have ???

Our strip is too short to do 200MPH run...Honestly I dont know where those 8-9secs Skylines going to brake...I hope would be able to do more then 120 in 1/4...

Yes correct, with stock tyres at 6100 rpm. At 6500 its up to 113mph.

With 285/30/19 tyres goes to 115.5 at 6500.

Anyway you cut it with 3.06 you will change once more ...

The traction is what I am worried about.. With around 700HP soon and 3.06 gear I am scred that the car would be undrivable on the street...

Why with stock tyres youb change at 113 and with 285/30 at 115 ???

At which speed you change with 275/30 on 19s going to back to 275...

Rolling circ of 285/30 on 19's is longer , 275 are closer to stock rolling circ, but still fractionally longer

275/30/19 with 3.06 is 114.46 at 6500 , 107.42 at 6100
