The horsepower wars are not about to stop soon and the cars in just the next year and two years are going to be a giant leap ahead in power and speed, and most likely high-tech gadgets and luxury.

All three of these twin-turbo engines will be easily tunable with just an ECU/Exhaust/Intake to well over 700 horsepower, and up over 800 with just a little work to the engine also. I guess mid 10's in the quarter will be the norm!!!
+1 I hope AMG will have come up w/ TT set up before my warranty runs out

I've been considering the cooling upgrade.... but I also want headers to remove the bottleneck

Anyway, w/ cooler weather coming, I should be able to notice a lot easily if I lose power after several hard runs and need to upgrade my cooling first. I know I should get data logger to be completely certain.

BTW, you may have posted in separate thread.... but what kind of numbers are you putting w/ K2?
I'm not exactly sure what kind of pump it is, but when we compared it with the stock pump its bigger than the stock. It came with bigger hoses, piping and brackets as well. The stock pump is *****. I have heard that the johnson pump works very well too!

Well, maybe you can think about doing headers soon, and since the weather is only gonna get colder, you can do the cooling mods in the Spring?
Or do them both at the same time! Lol...

A data logger is key. I can't say for sure what numbers I'm running because I haven't had the chance nor time to put it on the dyno after the mods. Hopefully, I will get to the same dyno machine I used for the baseline sometime next week. I'm expecting a min. increase of 80 rwhp.

I recall from the Evosport ecu/pulley, shorty headers. and phenolic spacers, I gained around 70-80 rwhp on my e55.

Thanks!
I think I met this guy yesterday on Rt 46 in Totowa, NJ... Charcoal LP640 with Matching Wheels... The car was INSANE!

REALLY Nice guy, very down to earth, Light brown hair, about 35. We talked for about 10min. Super nice. I wonder if this was the same guy?

I tell you, that car was absolutely BESERK!

Gotta be him dude, definitely the same car so it's gotta be the same guy, and where we met him was in that immediate area, he actually got off on to rt. 46. I don't think there are many LP640's out there, let alone in that exact same color scheme.

We've gotta get him on the board!

So what happened? Did a mini van drop off a 15 year old kid looking for a black eye?

Of course he didn't show up bro. He probably would have fit in with all the high school ricers acting like fools in the lot. He's a 100% faker, we were there from 9:45 on, no show. Hell the kid hasn't posted since I hung him out to dry. The meet sucked anyway, it was supposed to rain tonight so not a lot of people showed up.

Sunny,

Thanks man... I really apprieciate it.

Now I just gotta get it up to speed. Thinking a Pulley, 80mm TB, and Re-Tune, along with a CM30 Pump. Then it should be ok.

The Flash from Adam REALLY helped BTW.

I should have asked him, but I didn't remember about your Video till I got home and thought about it... I Did get some pictures of his car with my trusty pocket camera. I'll try and get em' up over the Weekend.

I showed him a shot of my car I had with me, and he loved it... Like I said he was super nice. I'd love to bump into him again, and tell him about the Video

CH, bro if you thought Edgewater was infested with ricers you should have seen Yonkers. After Edgewater, my friend Andrew and I went down to Yonkers to check out the car scene there...the "NOS'ed up civics," integras, and V6 mustangs just made me cringe.
Nice meeting you and Sunny btw, take care dudes.

You have to get cooling mods! It really helps. My power is there all the time, regardless. I'm thinking about the 80mm TB as my next mod with some street legal drags to put on the 18s for the street/track. And, Still waiting for my wheels. Taking forever....

That's the one! Nice pic. Maybe we will run into him again.

BTW, how do you like your ride now with 20s and lowered suspension. Is it a lot harsher than the stock 18s? I've only had 19s on all my cars, 20s are tempting though.

I'm assuming you use 255/30-20 and 305/25-20, from your signature, your tires look like rubber bands. I was just wondering what you ride is like. Let me know. Thanks!

Sunny,

Right on the Front tire size... But on the Rear I'm running a 295/25-20" With a 10.5" Rim. with the most negitive offset I could run the get the tire Underneath the Fender AMAP!

I guess from years of Dragracing... Nothing looks more unsightly to me than tires sticking out!

Plus it throws stuff all over the car. if I could have gotten a 305 all the way under the car I would have done it.

As far as the ride... I drive the car very little, so ride as not as important to me... It's the looks, and I love the way the car is right now... It is a ruffer ride, you have to watch the bumps, If I were in the city, I don't think I could do it, still you must be very careful, and I wait for all the potholes to be fixed after the winter when I put the car back on the road.

Best,

RoydRage

Pretty impressive for that SL55. I've walked away from many slightly modded SL55 AMGs before. I have ran away and put a good 5 car lengths on stock SL55 AMGs. Good job of the M5 keeping up. Way to rep M-power.

I believe the old S55 that was naturally aspirated (2002 I believe?) had the dual exhaust as opposed to the quad exhaust.

And I will keep an eye open for that Murcielago...what a badass.

Thanks Froid. I'm trying to get my boy out with his brand new CL63, black on black. I know it's another heavy AMG, but Skyler and I want to see how my SL55 and his M5 does against a CL63.

Thinking about doing a run sometime soon. Wanted to get a dyno this weekend, but was out partying too much for halloween. Haha...

Well, I'm thinking about sending my car out to the dyno later tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted.

Can't wait to see the numbers your ride is putting out.

And yeah, I would love to see how the CL63 fairs against you guys. I put my money on both you and Skyler walking it at all speeds
