A slow Tahoe!
Just finished my first dyno - here are the results.

Hey guys I just got back from getting my car dynoed. I'm pretty happy with the results, at least I know now that I wasn't a victim of the ECU flash by MB. Pulls 1 & 3 were done in 3rd gear and pull no. 2 was in 4th. Pull no. 2 was also done 2 minutes after no.1, but we waited a while before we did pull three. Any feedback from the experts will be greatly appreciated. From what I can see the car is making what MB advertised it would and maybe a little more. Let me know if the pictures are not clear enough, I will scan them in tomorrow at work. I downloaded the image from a camera. Now let the modding begin! Any EVOtech dealers\installers on the East Coast??

BTW - car is stock w/ K/N filters.

It's amazing how much the TQ drops with small increments in HP on three different pulls on the two graphs.

Since HP is a function of torque and rpm I would think the change is mostly due to being in third or forth gear.

I thought E55BKS dyno looked better than most I've seen stock. 443 RWHP sounds a bit high for a stock 55, but I guess it depends on the dyno. Different dynos (conditions and operators also) vary so much they tend to be useful mostly for tuning and to see change after a mod. If both cars were put on the same dyno on the same day one after the other, then the difference would be more valid.

I agree. My baseline is what I was hoping it would be. I don't think the filters did anything for added horsepower, it may just be the dyno. Of course this engines are hand built so no two engines will be exactly the same when tested. But 443 RWHP at the tires is strong for a stock car. I wonder if it was bought used and it has mods already on it?

No, and I'm not claiming they did. Just stating what I've added to the car before the dyno runs. I do believe they create more air flow but only when the car is in motion. At this point I can see some added benefits. Just my .02

Thanks, I plan to take it to the track next week. The weather here is great, driving these cars this time of the year is pure excitement.

I'm not sure which pulley/tune I'm going to go with but EVOtech is at the top of my list. After that mod I plan to dyno again and then upgrade the heat exchanger (Code3performance) before next summer.

Good question, I called the stealership and had the S/A get me the name of the previous owner. I asked for his number but the S/A said he couldn't give it to me so I gave him mine and asked him to have the owner call me. He did and I was able to find out if my used car had mods or previous problems. He told me everything about car which was very helpful. Good luck.

There are a lot of variables on why some stock dyno numbers are higher. For instance, temperature, intake air temperature, altitude, dyno machines... Time for the track!

I agree, however, like I said a stock SL55 wen't 20min after me and threw down what seemed to be average #'s...

That being said I would lean toward your car having at least a tune on it, maybe the experts can chime in on what you may have on the car based on those numbers.

I would say to make things even stranger.. when we race the SL55 VS my E55 it was soooo close.(highway) I barley pulled... arent the E55's supose to be significantly faster?

Did you do couple of wide open runs before the race with the SL 55?

Not if you are running with high IATs before the race.
