The END of AMG's in Finland
The SLR is now officially a million dollar car in Finland!!! It costs 881 624 euros (=1274000 dollars) and the E63 189 329 euros! Sick!So if it was not enough that we had one of the most expensive cars in the world allready, we are getting taxed even more from the beginning of 1.1.2008.
They say they are planning an environmentally friendly law, but the funny thing is that the mileage that you drive doesnt effect the tax at all?! So a big block engine that is standing still gets taxed more than a diesel doing 1000000 miles/year. Idiots...

This is how it feels, I really cant say whats wrong with this country. I would have tolerated high gas prices and even some kind of penalty tax yearly, but to raise a cars price, like the E63 50000 euros, is just insane. These prices are now double from that in Sweden and Germany. Off course the government officials arent driving small diesels...

I cant understand why they do this can it be from fuel cost being so high the gov dont want these gas guzzlers around?
I hope this never happens to the USA. I still feel all of the cars sold in the USA are overpriced for what your getitng but you guys abroad realy pay the price.
I had a korean friend tell me last week his parents purchased a Lexus Ls 460 the top of the line car in Seoul and when converted to US money it was approx $179,000. That same car in the US is like 90,000 I think.
I also heard Signapore is even worse.
