thats tempting!!

Although, if you just wanted to use a car for before and after gains. I wouldnt mind ponying up my car to install/uninstall.

edit: but my car isnt stock. you would probably want a stock car to show gains on that.

I cant speak for everyone obviously but for me I would pay up for a true shorty OEM replacement (similar to above) obviously its design would take much longer and the fab would be more difficult etc etc but I am sure it can be done ...

The long tube design is not 100% equal length either and it does need a larger collector. The lengths do seem closer to equal length than the supersprint version. Fitment needs modification of down pipes, removal of primary cat and O2 sensor relocation.... not something I am interested in doing. Please correct me if I am wrong here Vic.

Again my personal opinion... YMMV!
What do you think you will pick-up from having them equal length?

From previous experience on other motors be happy if you see 7 rwhp more with equal length

I would be willing to offer the shorty headers to you for $1250 INSTALLED.. All you have to do is put out for a before/after dyno. That will give us the hard facts on how much power they will make.

I will arrange through Vadim in SoCal to have them installed for you.

Any takers?
WOW 1250 installed is a steal!

but i'd bet those gains are likely from equal length long tubes on an n/a motor.

E55 exhaust is very good from the factory, no power gains with other exhausts mods exept headers and cats removal, the rest is just for sound...

My car made 620.9 HP at the crank runing pig rich with Kleemann style headers (no primary cats) and ASP pulleys and E.Race muffler (i doubt they make any power)...and 535 HP with just shorties...and E.race mufflers...

I would assume thie long tube headers will make about 40-45 HP max at the crank...

No problem if its not stock... Do you already have headers on the car? If not, and if you want to do some testing, I am all for it..

you are 100% correct. thats why I semi apologized up front. I meant in no way to take away from Victor's offering. I think Kompressed and I were just showing tubular setups vs. the log style.

No headers on the car yet, still waiting for them to be finished.

I have no problems if you want to do the testing, just as long as someone pays for the install and dyno's!

Although I think you're offering up a smoking deal, and if i didnt already commit to mine, I would take you up on it. Who knows, if mine keeps getting pushed back, I may just ditch it and get yours to be done!

But until then, come on Cali people!!

Is this on N/A motors or F/I?

Actually thats not so bad ... if a non equal length header gives you 30rwhp and I get 7 more from an equal length thats ~23% improvement...

But I hear you on F/I, exhaust phasing of pulses and exhaust scavanging is not important as on N/A ... but if you can have it why not ...

They did..

You have 2 ways of getting them..

Option #1: Order yourself a CLK-DTM and you will get them. $300K or so I think..

Option #2: I can order a set of the DTM headers for you for $12,200.

I take Paypal and CC... LOL...

If no one steps up and you are willing to use your car, I'd love to do some before/after testing.

I'll coordinate with Vadim and see what we can do.

>>>Terms of Use.

Photos of a set of plastic model equal length E55 headers, and partially welded up headers are definitely pretty scary stuff. Good call by the admins to remove the pictures and protect the sponsors.

Arrow Chris's Shorty headers work!!!

EDIT: Not trying to bst yre b*lls Vic - I appreciate all your mods - and have most of them ... !!! But a header design similar to this one below would sell like friggin hot cakes - and even at a high price I would think. The log one above is a duplication of what we have seen before. Its not really anything different or new. The long tube will have limited appetite since the exhaust needs to be chopped up and the primary cats need to be booted. Not everyone is keen on this degree of modification. Just my 2c.
stevebez: We did a pre-install dyno and a post-install dyno with Chris's "Shorty Headers" on my my 06' E55. I picked up 28rwhp with these log style headers. They really help on the upper end. I believe that the 1/8" increase in diameter on each port dramatically help on the high end. 8 ports times 1/8 increase in diameter equals an additional 1" of pressure relief over the stock manifolds. I have only been to the track once after the mods but I had the 3rd fastest mph of the e55's @ 114+ on a 90 degree day during the Calif fires with horrible smoke in the air. JRocket who is more modded than me with a ASP pulley ran at 118mph as well as Sean on 10/26 at Calif Speedway. Regards

Vic,
Do you still need someone?
I was scheduled to fly back on the 19th (my birthday) although I would just cancel my flight and drive out to So Cal

I could drop my car off on Monday or Tuesday.
Can you PM me a phone number where I could reach you?
Is the 19th too late for you?
Where would I need to drop the car off?

Let me know ASAP

Thanks

P.S.
I actually bought my car from Vadim

Can you make that same offer for the shorty headers for someone in NYC... I have done the pulley/ecu in my SL55 and the next mods will be your 80mm throttle body, cam and headers...
