Yes, helmet is required for any car running faster than 13.99 seconds, and it must be meet minimum requirements for SNELL 90 or SA2005 or higher

I've yet to see a drag strip that rents helmets, but almost every single track (oval tracks) has them available for rent.

If you can find a race track close to you, they'll allow you to rent it for $15 / day

I don't think I need to get the fancy one..... just for occasional event like this.

Bell, HJC, Sparco, and Arai are the most popular brands that I keep seeing repeatedly in every store. They make motorcycle helmets as well as racing helmets.

The helmets are expensive: they range $300 to $1,000 Did you try calling your local motorcycle stores and ask if they can let you rent one? Also, if you have a race track close to you, they'll let you rent it as well.

Yep... that's what I think also. Plan to go there and get one....

After giving some deep thought I don't think I want to rent (borrow from fellow members yes, but rent may be not).... I remember I went gokarting and rented a helmet there.... man, it was quite nasty. I washed my hair numerous times after that to remove the smell....

But MB_FOREVER, thanks for the advice.

Why don't we just meet at Starbucks? People could grab some coffee while waiting for other members to show up.... doing two stops would waste more time, no?

If you, Tony and Oliver don't plan to drive, I could pick all of you up.... Tony could give me some tips you don't want me to embarass evotech, do you? :p

Oh good point, I haven't even thought of that. When I rented mine at the track, we had to wear disposable head socks, and so all helmets were pretty clean and in good condition.

I just bought mine for $280 after trying a million of them on. I had to go through 4 stores to find an XXL helmet I guess they're rare

Anyways, good luck and will see you there, I'm very excited
