Pretty scary that the guy is that clueless on it.
Are there any serial numbers on engines that we could look up at a Benz dealer to see if she was serviced regularly?
Just curious.
Still waiting for them to come down to the 5K range. THEN the party begins.
Said it before and will say it again.
DISHPLATE SIZED PULLEYS BABY...YEAH!!!

Not really an MB world term but more of where you live thing.West vs east terminology is very different.
You cant unbolt a turbo or Sc at a race like you can a nitrous system,so the term all motor comes to play.

Would this motor be good for anything other than parts. Wouldn't you need the ECU and TCU also along with a transmission? I guess if you had a car that needed a new block this might be good if it were a bit cheaper.

I meant no nitrous. I also think all motor means no power adders but it seems like most people with E55s consider all motor meaning no nitrous so thats why I said that.

If you call turbocharged and supercharged cars all motor then what would forced induction be?

Lets say I had a car with NOS in it, but no other mods and another cat had a fully modded car without NOS. Would it matter who won?
I've learned a bunch about the 1/4 mile numbers, but to me, the one that crosses the line WITHOUT tripping the tree is the winner. I could give a rat's a$$ if it did a 1.1 60 or a 180mph trap. It went 1/4 mile before the other car, therefore it wins. If you wanna talk all the other crap, then put the money on that.

As far as I can remember, the term "All-Motor" is universal and East vs West coast never mattered when it came to what was considered "all-motor" or FI. "All-motor" refers to naturally aspirated motors with no turbochargers, superchargers, or nitrous used as the power adder. Whether the turbo/supercharger can be removed is irrelevant to separating FI vs all-motor. If you went around telling people a SUPERCHARGED E55 was "all-motor" because the SC can't be removed.....well, you get the idea.
The NHRA defines the "All-Motor" class best with these three simple words: "Power adders prohibited."

Not too surprisingly its been in a smash ... grazed tappet cover and front of pulley has chip on top...
Also looks pulley tensioner is missing and and water pump is missing. Other ancialiaries are also absent.
The bump on the pulley would be a concern re crank. With ECU and anciliaries and no crash scars it may not be so bad in terms of price.
I still dream of this unit in a Cobra with OEM gearbox, sidepipes and massive custom FMIC......
