Sold the beast...bought a 996TT

So I finally decided to sell the beast and buy a 996TT.
What a difficult decision, but it is has now been made.

I must say the P-car is nice. In typical SleeperX style I was challenged on the way home from the dealership by some young guy in a M3. Judging by the exhaust note he had some work done to his car. Needless to say the P-car did just fine against him. When I looked down and noticed that I was doing 140mph, I started thinking 'I havent owned this car for more than an hour and I am already racing it'.

I will be selling the mods from my E55 once I stop day dreaming about my new car and can focus enough to put up a post.

Some items that I will be selling.
Renntech airbox
VRP Carbon fiber airtubes
VRP Belt wrap kit
Evotech pulley

Congrats!!!

After the 996 vs the 65 thread I knew it was just a matter of time.

I see "stupid fast" in your new car's future.

Be safe.

You SOB.

Congrats. Please don't tempt me to do the same. My buddy has an "extra" one he is trying to get rid of.

Congratulations Frank! Enjoy the ride and be safe!
What yr is the car?

Now it's Jody's turn!

PS the M5 guys will be having dinner at Sergio's restaurant on Tues Dec 11th. Looks like Will(NYC_SRT8) is going and I'm going as well. This restaurant is a beauty. Nice pre Christmas gathering.

I'm sure they'd love to see the new member of your family!

Good stuff Frank ... I guess we all get tired (well not all of us) with modded beasts at some point. Enjoy ... I know I did with my stage III (weak sauce) 996TT.

Keep us up to date on the mods for sure.

Nice purchase. Lots of folks seem to be going that way.

Let me know what you want for the Evotech pulley if you get a chance.

That's Franklin!!!

So the 55 is sold? Great memories of what was and what would have been, with plenty of slain M5/6/Pcar victims!!

Also time for revenge against you know who! Lingenfelter!

Thanks.. I must say I was very much in love with my car as I am sure every board member is with their car. However, once I left the dealership and drove down the highway in my P-car those memories were far behind me. Dipping in and out of traffic, downshifting and passing cars, etc. It is just a different experience. My E55 was great...no it was awesome, however I see big potential for this P-car. The only thing I have been second guessing is whether I should have gotten a GT2 instead. I think going from the E55 to the GT2 woulld have been too much of a change for me. Interesting enough, the 996 turbo is actually more comfortable than I thought it would have been.

Keep in mind you are looking at the 996 turbo in its stock form. My E55 had a lot of cosmetic mods. More than I would care to remember because I took a HUGE bath.. Anyways, give me 4-6 weeks and then I will post up some picks and mods and then we can decide which looks better. Its way too early to compare the 2 cars.

GT3 was way too rough for me when I tried, so I'm sure the GT2 would have been even more so. 996TT is more comfy then the GTs and is better for everyday driving.

LOL! Now that's an awsome feeling! The Porsche is a driving machine and I'm sure you won't regret owning.
Shifting and dipping will be the new emmo! Looking forward to seeing her after she's modded!
