E55 dyno test results

Dynoed my 05 E55 today, it put down 443 horsepower and 469 lb. ft. of torque.
Only mods are snorkel tube and K&N filters.

This would mean that the horsepower at the crank is over 500 and torque is over 540 lb. lbs, using a 15% drivetrain loss calculation.
is this motor rated low at 469 horsepower intentionally by the factory?

Your 3rd gear dyno is showing a bit higher hp because it is not a 1:1 gear ratio. If you would of dyno'd in 4th gear you would have gotten approx 433rwhp and 479rwtq.. that is in line with an 05-06 55 car.. The 05-06 cars generally dyno 10-15rwhp higher than an 03-04 car.

These cars ARE underrated from the factory.. they all show over 500hp @ the crank.

Not sure what kind exactly. It is located at NRP (Nevarez Racing Products) a very well known and respected engine builder and tuner. Their shop is located right near Las Vegas Speedway.

I don't know why it would be running lean. Nothing has been done to the computer to my knowledge.
I don't hear any pinging and the car pulls strong all the way through the gears.

Also, isn't the drivetrain loss more around 18%?

i dynoed almost identical #'s stock... you might want to re- dyno bone stock... the filter and snorkel may not have done anything

Car Whore
I always calculate about 18-19% for AWD cars, and 15-16% drivetrain loss for RWD

Why do the 03-04 cars usually dyno 10-15 hp less than the 05-06's?
