I’m not building my car for the drag strip either, sorry guys. I’m not going to gut her out, throw slicks on her and take it to the track by trailer every weekend. I just want it to be a lot faster and louder. You just don’t see MBs built up to sound like old hot rods. My main mods were bigger valves and aggressive cams to give it a strong pulse and some serious boost to get it moving. I needed the 5.7L bottom, bullet trans, etc., to ensure the engine and drivetrain has durability and longevity. I’ll never sell my car so this money is well spent for long lasting enjoyment. I’m not targeting specific HP or ET numbers, but I’m pretty confident it’ll be very impressive once it’s all said and done.
So why even do all of this if I may never even take it to the track? I don’t mean to get soft on all you b@st@rds, but because of what I currently do, I have come to realize very fast that life is not only short, but it could be cut shorter than I ever imagined. I see it all too often. With that in mind, I need to do what I like and be happy right now. That’s why I need these mods now and I don’t care if there are no numbers to back them up. I mean, come on, Victor and Vadim know what they are building and I know what I’m getting. It’s a no-brainer.
I’m single with no kids and not even a girlfriend, I know that sounds pretty gay, but I’m in the US a total of only 50-80 days a year and all I have to look forward to is my 4,000 mile road trip back home to Louisiana to visit my family. I look forward to that trip every year not only to visit my family, but because that long drive is so peaceful and makes me feel so free. It's such a blast because I enjoy driving for days and I could drive forever. So I thought, what better to drive than a very loud SL55 AMG with 1,000 horses. I’m just hoping Victor can make it happen and I can last……

Wow, long trip!!, With those 1000 HP you could kiss gas mileage good bye. Your car will literally pee out the gas. Trust me, you'd be lucky if you make it around the corner with a half tank., LOL!!!

Right! Good point. As you can tell, I'm not too concerned about fuel economy or emissions for that matter. It will be interesting to find out my gas mileage though. All I'm worried about is making it to the next gas station. I figure I should get at least 250 miles per tank. I drove my ’88 Toyota MR2 SC on that trip. It fills up with only 7 gallons and it gets about 200 miles per tank and I had to fill up 10 times one way. I'll never get rid of that little thing either. Maybe I'll have Victor twincharge it too.

The stock fuel system is rated for high hp so for now no upgrade is needed.
I won’t really know if we have an unknown weak link until it’s all together and we start testing it out. But for now, we’re covering all of the major hurdles.
Havoc,

What's done to the tranny? It would be nice to see some tranny mods for these cars.

The stock fuel system will not handle 1000 HP on pump gas.

Dude, who are you? The MB Police?
Havoc could care less about the numbers game. That's why I have VRP doing the build and not myself. If we need to upgrade the fuel system, we will. It's no big deal as far as I'm concerned.
Just because you spent $100k on a Mitsubishi to twincharge it and you are unhappy with the results doesn't mean it's my problem.
Havoc doesn't need anyone looking over his shoulder or for his best interest. That's what he's paying VRP for.

Semper Fi,
Havoc Out!

Dude, I actually liked the Evo.

Just call me the B.S. police. I've modded cars for many years and I love these threads as they're so full of it. It helps kill the time on cold snowy days.

Internet racing rules! Posting estimated 1/4 mile times before there's even a dyno chart is classic.

Oh well, I'm off to build my 9 second, 1500 HP, Cl65 using 6 turbos, a super duper strong bottom end, and the stock fuel system on 91 octane.

Yo Back Seat Police, there is no need to interrogate the Havoc!
I can give a rats butt if you’ve modded cars for 100 years or how ever much you spend on your cheep Mitsubishi.
Keep your silly comments like… “that guru is all talk because no one has posted any performance numbers or taken one of these cars to the track” to yourself. If you want to speak to him, talk to him directly. I don’t want to hear it. WTF! Of course there is not documented numbers…No one has taken the 55 Kompressor this far. Have you ever taken apart a 55 Kompressor? I didn't think so and neither have I, but he has! The Havoc will Not be persuaded! I have nothing to prove to you or anyone else, but only to myself.

First off, the spot for B.S. police is taken as are the apprenticeships, so back your butt up. NOBODY has even attempted the things on these cars that VRP and even crazier (Havoc) are trying. If you did your homework BEFORE spurting your knowledge, you would see that.

You can say that you are off to put 6 turbos on your car, but this is actually real. I go and see Havoc's car on an almost weekly basis.

The only snow around here is blowing up your nose. You end up in the same spot that the newbs go. Why? Because of your attitude.

Hey G55k

I guess Internet Racing Rules then.

I've been close to the race car business a long time. I know how it goes. Somebody from the SIDELINES is throwing pot shots at the guys on the field who actually have some skin in the game.

A RennTech 65 car, with nothing but suspension mods, and maybe a little squeeze, can get 10.9... I'm pretty sure, that my car will be able to attain low to mid 10s... IF I WANTED IT TOO...

Now, I obviously don't have it finished, and I have to give credit where credit is due, getting it to the ground, will be a challenge that I have addressed, but refuse to test due to the desirablity of the car. But, it' not likes its beyond me to break a few parts now and then.

So, I guess we'll have to see. The estimated to to completion is mid to late April.

Hey New2this, I totally agree with you and I feel the same way as you do. But you don't have to explain anything to this G55K guy.

G55K, I need to call you out! I call BS on the BS Police!!

G55K, How do you think I would respond when you are talking trash about VRP (and in a personal manner) in another thread and then come here to "his thread" and ask us questions about "his" projects?
I don't consider you a threat, but you do stink! What are you Really up too?

Let him say what he wants about VRP. It doesn't matter. The proof is in the cars and customers.

Hey Havoc

What part of Louisiana are you from?

I spent 7 years in Houma, south of Baton Rouge, working offshore.

I used to drive from there to Utah 3Xs a year...for 7 years. 1900 miles, with wife and child... Lots o fun... Especially at the speeds that I like to drive.

Yo New2this

I'm from a very small town 1 hour south of Lafayette. I from the Deep South.
I've been to Houma plenty of times.
That drive is lots of fun. Try driving it now in your SL65 VR1000 as your wifey screams all the way! That would be a trip in itself. LOL!
Working offshore is tuff work and something I could never do. You’re a tuff dude!

Hey Havoc

1 hr south of Lafayette??

Morgan City?

Hwy 90 sure brings back a lot of memories.

Great Food.. I went there right after college and gained 25 lbs in 6 months, when I came back home the first time, my parents didn't even recognize me.

Still carrying that 25 lbs plus a few extra...lol

New2this..

Negative. It's Erath.

25 lbs in 6 months is actually not that bad. I've done worse damage. But it is funny. Yeah, that food will get you every time. Especially the stuffed soft shell crabs and the fried everything! Ya you right!
And the drinking is nonstop, but I'm not much of a drinker.

I know where Erath is...

Used to go thru there on my way to Abbeville and Kaplan.. Just west of New Iberia.. out by Avery Island, and the Tabasco plant.

I'll never forget, I was at a store there called "lagnaippe"...

I was new from Utah, and the guy I was with started busting a gut, when I asked him what "lag nappy" meant.

I didn't know what a "po boy" was either. I couldn't figure out why they would advertise about "poor boys"

Soft Shell Crabs, Seafood Gumbo, Crawfish.. I never did suck 'da heads', Thibodeax and Boudreaux jokes, Crawfish Etouffee.... Oh yeah, I miss the food for sure..

Hey Project55, you know I was going to respond to this one!
Of course Havoc is a clown and he wouldn't have it any other way!

Your "Project" should include laser eye surgery because if you actually read my posting correctly, you will notice that VRP has nothing to do with that response. It's about my SL55 in general and in stock form.

Negative buddy, VRP is A OK with me laying it on thick. Any other Tuner would be worried, but Not VRP! Shove that in your intake and blow it out of your exhaust!

This is so funny!!

Yeah, its right next to Abbeville and New Iberia. I've been to the Tabasco plant way too many times.

I remember the lagniappe. Yeah, you out of state guys crack me up too! You're taking me back man!

Oyster Poboys are bad as. I've eaten all the critters down there and that's truly amazing.

The Thibodaux and Boudreaux jokes are too funny! You have it all down pat!
