That is actually pretty funny. The guys driving the cars in that video do a pretty poor job. The SLK55 actually appears to upshift, then downshift, then upshift in one of the runs...that's the way to post a fast time! Or how about the two guys launching with the ESP on. Or the guy that takes off, stops, then takes off again?! If I were those guys, I would be mocking AMG owners at he drag strip too if they came driving like that! WOW!

If you're going to fly AMG flags you better put down some low 11's or high 10 second runs and any track. I wish that sick S600 was there to represent.

'06 E55, '05 SLK55, a few others
Track was snot slick. The SLK55 was spinning pretty much full track (it's FI'd and quite fast). In the one run you can see he had to get out of it or go into the wall. These guys sound like high school morons.

The E55 at the top of the thread ran the fastest trap ever witnessed in a stock 55 in California. The track was the worst I have ever driven on. As far as the guys wanting to hate on rap , or amg, or even my gay a** flag, this week I will wear a racing suit , my sparco shoes and my bling..Bottom line envy causes some seriously retarded and backwardass commentary.

If those guys had more money, they wouldn't be saving up $500/mo to drop mods into a 10yr-old SS that on a good day is worth $10K-$12k. They know what's up, since at the end of the day they have to drive home in that car and then use it to go to work in the morning.
That commentary just makes them feel better about their own situation, and it's the same crap they'd say about any high-end car they saw at the track. It's the same reason people get so pissy on the highway when you're just driving normally, trying to change lanes or something, if you're in a nice car.
I find that doing something that wouldn't even raise an eyebrow in the Suzuki will immediately get me the middle finger, high beams, horn, or some combination thereof in the SL. I also love it when you have the top down and can hear the engine of the car next to you start roaring as soon as you put your blinker on to change lanes, as they try to close you out.
Don't take it personally. It's just human nature.

Seems like that most of those guys go to the track quite often and we sure don't need the headache of always looking over our shoulders.

One of my friends has a camaro and always talks **** about how little he's put into his car compared to mine (thats his excuse every time he loses lol). Take $15k and put it into a civic and it will tear up any benz on this board in the 1/4. Lets be honest here, benzes are NOT the best bang for buck. We do it because we love it for one reason or another, not because it makes the most sense. I'll take my car over a 9s camaro ANY DAY! I dont live my life 1/4 mile at a time

First read about the condition of the track at that day. There was no prep what so ever and almost no VHT being sprayed. Then there was over an inch of slippery rubber that wasn't being cleaned off. The track prep was the worst I've ever seen. But we were still out there, and we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed it

I was there and I'm the one that pitched it sideways (E55 black rims). I had just completed my first two runs 12.4 & 12.3 and I was juiced for the third. After I did my burnout I forgot to turn the ESC back on and all of you should know what happens in these cars when you launch with the ESC off I still ran a 13.8 @ 113. some guys didn't even run a 113 with a good start.
