for a golf trip with my buddies in March 08. None of us have been there, so I was just wondering any recommendations as far as what areas to stay in or around San Diego? Golf course gems (we will have a SUV rental so driving an hour is not out of the question)?
Thanks ahead of time.

The obvious would be Torrey Pines. The Buick will be held there around February, and then they will start preparing for the U.S. Open. Nice course, great views but when I last played it ( a few years back) the conditioning was horrible.

Yeah...that is on our list already. We just need 2-3 more courses to round out our trip. Our upper limit on a round is about $200, but that better be a freaking nice course.Originally Posted by Bones

La Costa resort or Torrey Pines are the best places to golf in SD.Originally Posted by AMGfan

I was thinking about Carlsbad, their new public course is very nice, and then you have La Costa or Aviara... if you wanted to play a fun cheap course head over the Coronado. Check course and then GREAT places to eat or play afterwards... Then there's always Red Hawk, Cross Creek, Temecula Creek or SCGA here in Temecula...

Def check out Carlsbad for courses... or drive up to the LA area (Rancho Palos Verdes) and there are some amazing courses (ocean views).

Four Seasons Aviara is the best and the course is amazing. Much better hotel and course than La Costa IMO. Stay at 4 Seas and la costa is only 5 mins away so you can play both. I used to live across the lagoon from 4 seasons and know the area very well. If you want more info, bars, resturants etc shoot me a PM.

Head up north an hour to Laguna Nigel and check out Monarch Beach at the St. Regis. Nice course and should be in your price range.

Thanks fellas...I'll be checking them out via Google. From what everything I've heard San Diego is a great place to visit and hang out.

That's where I used to live... I used to practice on my YZ250's back there where Aviara is now... CRAZY... in fact Evil Knievel stopped by once to give pointers... that's when he was in his prime... well now he's dead... so that's not in his prime at all now!Originally Posted by LZH
