I bought a black emblem off Ebay(guy is listed as Canada but came from Hong Kong). The quality was terrible. The black paint was kinda glossy and had hairline scratches in it. The sides of the emblem still had burr marks from where it was connected to the mold. I sanded the burrs but what was left was the bare white plastic. It was not worth it. I painted my own chrome emblems instead...looks better.

There are a few website offerings, but it turned out that they were simply the OEM badges with a coat of spray paint. Since then, everyone has just been painting their own. If you DYI it, make sure you use tape to mark where the oem ones are BEFORE you remove them.

The size should be the same. If there is a big enough difference in price, I would just go with aftermarket because you're going to paint them anyway.

I painted all my emblems matte black also. The best way to do it is buy all new emblems and paint them black. The old emblems get pretty wrecked once you take them off. It does get a bit costly but it looks stock...

Matte black is more of a flat black while normal black tends to be a little shiny.

+1 on marking them with tape. I had mine done through a friend at a body shop. He had some things to paint so he just did mine too. Ended up doing a set for Dragon on the forum too...

If you end up needing someone to do it, I'll ask my friend to hook it up again if you need...

The Matte black won't have that glossy look compared to the normal black.

Matte Black:

Normal Black

yea i know the difference between the color.. so do i just use like normal black spray paint from autozone? the ones without the shine?
but then, i love matte black alot more than normal black, but our cars the paint should still be shiny, wont shiny black go better than matte black with the paint you think?

The best way to go is with new emblems and have them painted in the Matte Black. I used a local body shop to paint them because I wanted to make sure the paint lasts. Looks way better than chrome in my opion.

No way dont use spray paint, take them to a body shop and pay 50-100 and have them painted proper...

IM PROB GOING TO BUY NEW EMBLEMS...BUT I WASNT SURE IF I SHOULD GO WITH THE OEM ONES, OR THE ONES THAT ARE 30$ CHEAPER LOL
