Down at the dealer tonight and all the talk was arrival of Smart in the next week or so.

Everyone trying to get me to be the first guy to buy a Smart in the US and put the bullet bike motor in it like the guy on YouTube/Web.

Course I am no dummy and it's just marketing to get me to buy one, but it still bums me out that this could be the muscle cars of the future. Friggin Smart cars with bullet bike motors in them.

Gonna go find a Green and punch him in the mouth.

The local Honda dealer, Rick Case in Ft. Lauderdale has them out right now. the funny thing they have Mercedes Benz sprinters with Smart car graphics all over them, running around all over town.
So I go Sears and buy a nice pry bar cause I am afraid my 24's wont throw the smart cars out of the treads as easily as they throw the Honda civics.

.......I have seen them around in FLL. The thing is, gas mileage is 35mpg. That is better than any AMG but not better than offerings from Toyota or Honda. I worry that after the novelty wears out, it may not do that well.

I've got a smart on order and am planning to mod it all up. It isn't the same as those other cars. It is a quadracycle, not really a car. Get about 200hp on it and it will be lots of fun. These aren't the new muscle cars. They are the new motorcycles (just safer).

Have any of you guys been to a Smart dealership yet? Our local MB store hired a bunch of models to sell the things! These chicks are HOT! Makes me want to go get my oil changed about once a week just so I can stop by the Smart showroom!

Its Almost as much fun as a Atom

Its Sad to see the US Smarts 451s dont get the better MPG and NO Turbo

As My Smart got 45 to 50 Mpg with the A/C on

But the US Smarts do have a MUCH Better look inside and out!

wow more Smart owners we have also smart as my gf loves that thing. well, for sure i need to mod it also!

I'm ready!! I stopped by LN last night, so that is another potential. I'd rather be patient and get the exact one.

From what i gather, this little motor is very similar to our 55ks!! Easy to work on and very robust block. Nothing rocket science. They are 1 liter motors with LOW compression, so no reason why we can't boost it.

I've also contacted the cat that sells the Smartuki to see how much a rear subframe will be.

Safe is relative. Safer than a motorcycle? Yes. Safer than the E? No.

I plan to use it to do work stuff. Just put miles on. I think it will be a sweet mix up to having a real car, SUV, etc.
