SERIOUS BUYER! Looking to buy ANOTHER 211 E55, anyone selling? PM me!!!!!
My dad likes my E55 so much, that he now wants one... Yes, Ive searched Ebay,Autotrader,cars.com, and MBworld classifieds..
If anyone has one, they want to sell. PM me. Im a serious buyer with funds ready...
I should mention this, I know the market WELL (very well) on these cars. Ive bought and sold several, and been on both sides of the fence.. It MUST be priced RIGHT... It must be priced well, and it must NOT have any stories (accidents,lemonlaw,etc)... With respect to my time and yours. Dont bother PM'ing me, if your looking at Kelly Blue book.
thanks

thank you for the PM's.. Looking at several "serious" leads, at this point..I'm not here to "insult" anyone.. And with respect to everyone else on this board. I am not going to get into "numbers" on a public forum. PM me with what your looking to get. And I will let you know if we are even in the same ballpark or not. Ive bought and sold 3 of these E55's, along with several other exotics and other "AMG" models as well. So, I've been on both sides of the fence, and know what these cars are "actually" chaging hands at. Not what people are asking.
thanks again..
PS- looking for a 100% stock car at this time. thanks

Same goes for me as well. my brothers still looking so you can PM me as well and i will forward any/all information to him.
much in the same boat as taximan.
not so much looking at KBB or auction pricing, but moreso true market value as dictated by supply, demand, and the economy.

I don't understand what the big secret is. Why would someone come on a "public forum" (to use the OP's term) publicly declare that they're a serious buyer, but want people to privately PM them? Please clarify for me why you won't just say, what you're budget is and see if anyone is willing to sell you their car at close to what asking is?
I also don't understand why car dealers don't post their prices on their websites? Just confused.

I'm in too, just go 30% below the book and I'll buy. I am very smart and know everything so if your stupid and want to give it up for nothing, I'll look at it.

Was not my intent to come off that way. Just someone who's made all the mistakes prior, and learned from them, thats all. But thanks for that valueable input.

I'm not selling mine but I doubt he could even price it.....1 of only 23 U.S spec cars imported in 2006, low mileage, spotless.....he'd probably offer me $40-45k which would be a total insult

yea, exactly....its like the guy is trying to say he's a resonable buyer then makes slightly annoying comments in subsequent posts about he knows everything in the world about the car and the market.....so maybe he should re-evaluate how this thread should go......since he knows everything, perhaps he should "suggest" a price he is willing to PAY.

2006 E55 Wagon (RIP), 2019 E63S Wagon (Sold) 2023 AMG GT634S
I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but this is how I think things should work:
Option 1 - You have a specific item to sell. You should tell folks how much you want for it. If they don't like your price, then, if they are REAL BUYERS, they should let you know what they are willing to pay. Non-buyers should say "good luck and let us know what you get for the car". Because really - a sale is a transaction between 2 people, and the vehicle is worth whatever SOMEONE is willing to pay.
Option 2 - you are looking to buy "a car" - not a specific car that has been offered for sale. You should post a range of $$$ that you are willing to pay with variables for mileage, year, condition, color, options, etc. If someone thinks they have car for you - they will contact you. If your numbers are too low - you may not attract folks, or, you may get higher mileage / lower option / older, etc cars.
Why do people make sales transactions so difficult?

The book is just a guide and dealers are "for profit" so big shock if they offer someone (for example) $35K for a car and put it on the lot for $49K.
I think "Taximan1's" point isn't to be a jerk or run roughshod, just to set expectations correctly.
Personally, I have an 06 E55 I would like to sell for original MSRP of $90,500! But, if I was buying I would look to buy for $30K.
It is just business, no need to take it personally. These cars (cars in general) drop like rocks (depreciating items).
"Captain Obvious" is signing out for the night.
