Is W211 E55 the worst depreciating car with msrp under $100k?

The E55 may have dropped like a stone in value, but I can't think of any other car I would rather have. If you plan on holding onto car for the long term, which I do, it really doesn't matter. If not, you should have leased.

Actually, the M5 holds value a little better than E55...... not great, but on average, definately a little better. My friend is looking to purchasing a 2006 M5, so we've been looking around for a while and it seems like the average price for a good-shape, good-option M5 was around $60k to $62k while only $54k to $56k for 2005/2006 E55.
The 55's have begun to drop more after the release of the 63's which is typical for any car, back in 05 when I got mine low mileage 03's were in the high sixty's and low seventy's. So the steep drop has come after the end of production which is expected.
The economy is also not helping by killing the price of many premium cars, heck you can get an 07 cl600 for 110,000 from a dealer. . A car with an msrp of 150+, for forty grand cheaper a year later, you got to love this country.
That's why I would not buy a high end Ferrari until I can drive it for at least 50k miles with out worrying about how much money I just lost. (my 2 cents)

If you think the prices are bad now, wait till the new W212 hits the market
Also, did anyone mention Audi having a really bad resale value also?? Just as bad as the Jag... well almost!

I was looking at getting a used A8 for awhile, and even the 2004's with higher mileage and no warranty left were still going in the high $30s. I thought it was nuts. Can get something much better for the same price.

With the equivalent of $5-$6 a gallon gas over there, they have fewer guzzling monsters floating around. If you are in the market for one, then you can probably expect to pay more. Supply vs. Demand.
That's my theory anyhow.

prices
M B export to N.AM in us$ not in euro, take a look at the german MB site you will see that the price is about 45% higher due to exchange rate which is 1.56
If they sell in euro, sales would go down at least 40%.A fully loaded e63 will set you back for 112000 euro which=$169000.would any body pay that much for med size MB.

What; take a look at this, over 100 grand in less than 3 1/2 years. This is serious depreciation.
