Damn... is this the same engine as the one put on Q7 TDI in Europe?

If I'm not mistaken... it's like 500+hp & 700+tq, right? Damn... just damn.

I think it was Road and Track that nobody trusts the specs from, but according to R&T, the car does 0-60 in 4.2. IF, IF thats true- its once again not gonna be worth the insane price tag that it will probably come with. Very nice car either way though.

The Q7 V12 TDI - if it made to US - was rumored to be around $100-110K price tag (double than its gasoline counterpart).

I could imagine this R8 V12 TDI goes for $200K. If so, I think it's a bit too much. So blackbenzz, if you could buy it w/ your kidney, I think it's a good deal already.... j/k man.

I think this car could go 0-60 < 4sec as this engine could even bring behemoth Q7 0-60 in low 5's.

Guess who has the #1 spot for this car here in Canada???

Well.. That's what the dealership told me anyways.. I have the #1 allocation for all of Canada.

Its going to be an awesome car and I can't wait to get it!!!

I'm already trying to figure out how to make a 1,000hp R8 V12 TDI VRP model... lol.. how's that for a mouthful?

So once you've got this car, are you gonna abandon your mb R&D? If so, for you

Heck NO!! MB R&D HQ is going to be California. I am working on bits and pieces up here but I've moved on to some BMW and Ferrari parts.

A slow Tahoe!
Not feeling the front

Nice car, but the front looks like a giant bee hive, I guess that big V12 needs a lot of air.

That's exactly what the Le Mans car does, trounce all comers.

As for the engine, very similar figures to the roadgoing TDI, 650hp, 800+ pounds of torque with a 5k redline, you could get those numbers with a basic tune on the R8 V12. I think an oil burner would be the move for Audi if they really want to differentiate, not to mention they could do it clean and fuel efficient. As for the cost? Absolutely prohibitive, Audi loves to charge more than anybody else.

I don't even think they'll blink about charging over $200k for this thing, I mean the R8 is sold out in the US for what, 3 years to come?

Audi's reign in Le Mans will come to an end very soon. This Peugeot was alot faster than the Audi's. If they didnt have transmission issues and other issues it would have been ugly for the Audi.

Man they've been saying that since the R8's, the competition will always be a step behind. Is the Pug a diesel? I know they've had some neat diesel concepts that were lightweight and very cool.

I'm telling you man. You can see the Peugeot running consistently faster lap times at Sebring. If they make it more reliable its game over! It was wayyy ahead and was leading the race the whole time until it had problems.

Consistency and reliability are more important than performance in endurance racing, that's why using a diesel was a stroke of absolute genius by Audi, no more 10,000rpm redlines to worry about.

I agree. But guess who else is running diesel technology? We shall see what happens at the 24 hour race!
