Route 66 Raceway Test & Tune 4/19 *Chicago Crew*
Weather permitting, I am taking the Black Series this Saturday morning to Route 66 in Joliet. Are any of you planning on heading out there? I'm sure it's going to be a zoo, but I am dying to see what I can run with all my mods. Let me know if any of you are planning on attending.

I heard the stories, I've been there a bunch of times with no problems. As I have mentioned in a previous post, I am a business owner, I contribute and belong to the Will County Economic Development Board, as do the owners of the track. Trust me when I say EVERYTHING will be taken care of this year. It is like a fraternity or secret society. They do huge favors for one another, best $20,000 I ever spent. I got the 2 best infield sports for my RV at Chicagoland Speedway for the Nascar Event last year with a weeks notice, infield spots have about a 4 year waiting list, and I got 2 side by side...in a week.

Running the Dymags with the Pirelli Corsa DOTR 305/30/19's. This is the first event of the year there, so the track is going to be GREEN. Not expecting any stellar passes, but the temp is going to be upper 50's which is not bad. I should have video and time slips posted by evening.

Great....
I can't wait to see what you run. Your car is the strongest and probably fastest 63 in the country. Make sure you get it on video, as every run you make tomorrow will set a new record for the 63 ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
This will be history in the making for the 63 folks

I don't know about all that, traction is going to be a major issue. I was out today practicing my holeshots on concret, I think I found the sweet spot. I also got a tick for doing it. I'm going to be running the Dymags and DOTR Corsa's, not the drag slicks. Open day of the season at this track, no rubber laid down...can you say GREEEEEEEN track surface! I have a buddy that is going to video tape as much as possible. Will post time slips and video, I hope posting vids on this forum is easy, because I am not a computer wiz.

It's actually pretty easy..... you can upload the video to YouTube.com (or any other video hosting site, such as, Photobucket, Flickr, etc....) then you post the link to the video here. If you run into problems, I can walk you through it or even send it to me, and I'll post it for you..... ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Well, I checked the weather radar again this morning and said what the heck, jumped in the car and drove to the track anyway. Sky cleared up around 9:00 and the jet dried the track, they started running at around 10:00
Here's the bad news, keep in mind this is the first day of the season anyone has run on the track, zero rubber on the surface. I watched 2 of my buddies make some bad passes, about 1.4 seconds and 1.2 off their normal pace. My first run was terible to say the least, I was peddling it for over an 1/8 mile. My 60ft was a SAD 2.35 and my e/t was an imbarasing 13.29, but here's the kicker my MPH was 116mph. Last october I ran 12.21 at 117mph. My pass today was a second off the pace of my stock BS...I thought to myself is this possible?? So I went an ran it again, similar outcome 2.32 60ft and a 13.19 e/t at 116.8 mph again. How can this be?
When I was in line for my 3rd pass the rain returned, it rained for a while and they called it a day. I must also add that I did not air down the tires, I was running 44psi. I wanted to make a few passes and then air down 10 pounds, make a couple passes and then air down again, for experimental purposes. On a better note, everyone I talked to was at least 1.2 seconds off their normal pace, some guys where claiming to be off over 2 seconds, I did not see a 60ft better than 1.9 all day, the track was in terrible shape and the weather was less than desirable.
I have video, but probably not worth posting. Sounds cool as hell though.

Juicee, maybe you can help us out here and correct these times to zero altitude just to get an idea of where the numbers are for the moment?

The DA was -11 to 250 feet, the 60 ft times are telling but the trap speeds make little sense

It was humid on Saturday and that couldn't have helped you...

jrcart,
I think you need to throw the car on a dyno and figure out if the car is making the power it made at EVOsport. I'd suggest going to CPT as they have dyno'd the most MBs here in Chicago and you'll have lots of other dynos to compare to.

I've dyno'd all my MBs there.
Good luck,
Marcus

I'm pretty sure it was just a combination of the weather (98% humidity), a green track and wind. Everyone was runing way off their normal e/t's. Most guys that I talked to with cars that normal post in the 12-13 second range were 1.2-1.5 seconds off. Nobody could post better than a 1.9 60ft, which is respestible, but not stellar.

I was just suprised to see my MPH next to such a bad e/t. If I could repeat my 1.79 60ft from last year, my trap speed would have to be in the high 120's, which should result in a very low 11 second pass....right?

I think he should hit 11.50's trapping at 121-123. He hit 117 stock 12.20's and added hp and lighter wheels, but weight overall is similar. 1/2 second better should happen 3-5 mph traps over stock.
Jim had to of been off throttle to produce these low traps, I have hit 2.40 60 fts and still trapped 115, the terrible 60 ft times should have not impacted the trap speed so severely as you know. I would think your car would be the perfect test for this 63.

I just found out yesterday that not only was the track green from sitting all winter, it was completly re-surfaced. We were the first ones to make a pass on the new surface...that explains a lot, even still, my times were horrific.
