I had my car weighed with a near empty tank of fuel, car is already down to 3674lbs I would assume due to the CF Dymag wheels and cat delete. This week alone I have striped an additional 60 plus pounds by removing the trunk liner panels and carpet, windsheild washer resevoir and plumbing. Tomorrow I should be recieving my 11.3 pound Braille CF battery, that should save me 30 pounds. As I type this nearly every feasable bolt on the car is being replaced with a titanium bolt, this will result in a huge weight reduction. I'm ordering some Sparco CF seats that weigh about 12 pounds each, theres another 80 pounds reduced.
My car will be under 3400 pounds come race day. I'm not worried

Hey ryan0, let me educate you on the rear end gearing issue. You are arguing with everyones comments, but it seems that you are the confused one. The Z06 has a 3.42 rear end stock. It is the only option available from the factory. Your statement makes it sound like you can just casually swap gears all you want, but that couldn't be more wrong. There is no way to swap gears on the Z06 due to the fact that there are no aftermarket ring and pinion sets available for the vehicle. The Z06 uses a different, larger diameter ring gear than the regular C6 so none of the gear sets available for any other C5-C6 corvettes will fit. The only possible way to change gears is to downgrade to the smaller and weaker C5 or C6 coupe housing for which other ratios are available. I don't know too many people interested in that. I wouldn't be.
I'm sure now you will come back with how the individual transmission gear ratios could be changed.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
This should be a fun one to see.
This might be the best case for the Z, but it is anything but the worst possible scenario due to the starting and ending speeds that have been selected for this race.

So should I assume you have the standard 6-speed with the 3.42 rear gear? I'm not trying to knock you or talk down, It's just that that's the worst possible scenerio for you if you want to do a 50-160 roll-on race. My close ratio 7 speed auto is going to rip through the gears flawlessly

who called you in for back up? just what this thread needs, more corvette bench racers in a MBZ forum.
awesome.
and yes, it makes more sense to change individual gears.. if you want to say youre fast.. top speed should not happen in a lower gear than your highest one.
this is getting silly.

Yes. You can verify this here:

Of course top speed is in 5th not 6th. Top speed is drag limited, not gearing limited. I suspect top speed in my C6 is in 5th not 6th too -- and I have an automatic!

haha... yes i'm confused.. you cant possibly put 4:10s into a new Z06. lots of people have. they may have gone back to c5/c6 parts.. but lots of people have.

Any gearset I want? Really? Can I put in 6.50:1 gears? After all, you said any gearset I wanted, and, without a doubt, you know everything.
I called myself in for backup because you seem to be spouting off incorrect information, and I wanted to make sure everyone about it.
Look at you telling me how this thread doesn't need me when you yourself have been told to GTFO by several people in this thread because nobody cares what you think.

Maybe you are right, and I'm not needed here. However, after reading the responses that you are getting, it seems as if you are the one that isn't wanted in here.

Well, it certainly seemed like you were confused when you said that any gearset you wanted could be added to the car like it was nothing.
