Benz just killin us with the mental games on this new TT!!!
Latest is the info coming out this week on the SLC Gullwing P Car fighter.
Supposedly pretty solid info is that Benz is stickin N/A on it now.
WTF??? Perhaps old news and these guys (magazine) are just getting a clue or something.
Link to latest head game on whether TT is coming.
The new Mercedes SLC/Gullwing will be aimed primarily at the Porsche 911 Turbo with a target price of roughly €150,000 – both a coupe (codenamed C197) and a roadster (codenamed R197) will be produced and it will be slightly smaller than the outgoing SLR.
Power will come from AMG's 6.3-litre V8 producing 550bhp and 445lb ft of torque, allowing the Gullwing to achieve 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds, maximum speed stands at 185mph – fuel consumption is said to be 14litres/100km.

That's why I was saying that we've heard so many rumors that it seems like Mercedes themselves are undecided
At one point, they talked about releasing a 6.2L TT, then 5.5L TT, then 5.0L TT, then even 6.2L supercharged, and now they're saying 6.2L N/A

I agree, They really are undecided!
I know the gas prices and the new mileage laws will have an impact too. I at least hope for a minimum of the 5.0 motor with TT's. I heard a long time ago that this is a destroked 6.2 motor. Who knows My lease is up in 13 months on my 06' E55 and I am unsure of what to do relative to AMG's direc tion. With two W211 E55's over the last 5 years going on six it leaves me in a quandry

I'm thinking marketing. If they get everyone else thinking only 550, then the other manufactures think they're only competing w/ 550.
Then BAM!- 600+ uber tunable turbo power!!
Maybe just wishful thinking on my part though.

i think jim nailed it...this is all head games from mb. they are putting out an incredible amount of disinformation for a reason. i just hope it's a good reason instead of a disappointing one.

Way different from years past!
When I put my deposit down for my 2003 E55 in 2002 it was pretty well known that the V8 Kompressor would be introduced in the upcoming W211.
Today which is only about a year away from the W212 release we still do not know the direction of AMG and what's going to be in the E AMG. I really would like to know since my E55 is coming off lease in 14 months and if it is something I would like to order. C'mon AMG get with it or else your going to lose some loyal customers!
