2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Everyone who has contributed to tracking this lout has done a terrific service for the MB World community. I have nothing but praise for those folks.
I would not hold my breath that this con artist will see the inside of the graybar hotel anytime soon.
I have had two thefts in the past couple of years. The first was a million dollar camera and lens that went missing from a location shoot in OC. The camera has a device that phones home. I gave the local police the GPS location, and detectives found it in the bedroom of a 19 year old man living with his parents. He claimed he bought it from a "guy at the mall" for $ 200. The prosecutor offered a plea to reduced it from grand to petty theft. The guys parents paid about 1,200 in fines and costs, and he walked out of Court on unsupervised probation. My camera spent more time in custody than he did.
The second case involved a stolen checkbook from an employee's truck in Las Vegas. The thief managed to cash three checks for $ 2,400 before the bank put a hold on the account. One check was cashed in the bank, and the tellers knew the guy. (Who said crooks are smart?) He plead guilty the day before his trial. He was given probation and ordered to make restitution. According to the DA he has not worked a day since the plea bargain, and not paid back a dime. The bank has refused to replace the funds because the thief told WaMu I gave him the checks!
I hope the MA authorties capture this crook and a forensic accountant can unravel his criminal antics and discover all his victims. Then prosecute him with the aim to punish him fully if found guilty. If I were on the Jury, I'd ask the bailiff to get some rope.

I would not be suprised to find out that the pictures of the Jag R in front of the brick house and the interior shot with Virginia on the NAV screen were not of the scammers house. I suggest they might be pictures taken by the seller of the Jag, at his home in Virginia.
It would not be the first time he used a picture that was not his.

While pursuing the Jaguar data may prove fruitful in ID'ing this guy, I think the data to date support concentrating on the MB coupe.
1. Look at his friends MySpace account before he deleted his entries (see image below). The image of the car is the exact same photo from the Best Buy parking lot and the last date for those My Space entries was April 13th, 2008. If you read enough of the posts from this individual, he prides himself on being 'hip', 'cool', and 'current'. Therefore, I would say that he currently has the MB coupe (or at least that appears to be his most recent).
2. Take a look at the composite below: The idiot did his ‘official photoshoot’ using the EXACT same location with the Jaguar and the MB coupe (note the position of the lamp post). Somebody posted the embedded data associated with the photos. With the caveat being that his camera may not have been set properly in terms of date, the photos are consistent with these dates. The Jaguar photo was supposedly taken in January, 2007. The snow on the ground is consistent with this date. The MB coupe photo was supposedly taken in June, 2007. Again, the surrounding foliage supports this contention.

Following from Bimmerforums.com...
Low life thief!
It seems you may be getting a refund, but that should only be the beginning of the price this scumbag should pay. I'll be in MA in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can help...

Out Of Control!!
Mass requires 2 plates... unless you have the old school Green plate... but he couldnt have one on the Jaguar, and prolly not on the C class either...
The green plate is no longer allowed for registration transfers, so he would have to get the double red plates one for the front, one for the back

Well, add copyright infringement to the list... if anything, we already proved that this guy stole pictures, if he doesn't end up in jail, and no one gets there money back, YoBalls83 could sue him for everything he's got and give some money back to forum members scammed by him.

I want to give a salute to all the members who have taking part on catching this scumbucket scammer. Hopefully if justice is served, it will be a lesson learn to all future or current scammers not just on mbworld, but all other known car forums around the internet.

wow
i have been reading this since about page 8, and have read through every single post and i can only say WOW
you guys really are amazing, and DON"T LET HIM OFF THE HOOK.
he gave you ur money back so that you would stop, and he could get off the hook.
Keep on the pressure so that he gets all the jail time he has deserved.
Cocky SOB's need to learn it's not ok!!

Hey guys, I got linked here from Jeepforum.com. I've been reading this thread - sorry to the two guys that got scammed. Now, looking at the pics of the scumbag's cars with my CSI hat on - could he be test driving cars from a nearby dealership, then taking pictures at the Best Buy located near the dealership to use for scamming purposes? I've noticed some differences between the "night" Jag and the "daylight" Jag. One has a front plate bracket, and one doesn't, for instance. This could explain the lack of front plates? If this guy goes to such lengths as to ship out random stuff via DHL for tracking numbers, he could easily test drive a few cars around to get good scamming pics for credibility.
Who knows? I might be way off here, but I though that I'd share my thoughts. I hope you guys nail this scum!

Another jeepforum member here - I missed the link over there, though, and caught it on bimmerforums.com. Many more decent people than crooks out there, and we're all hoping this scammer gets jail time!

I wasted a lot of time today ready every single post.
Heck, by now I thought I'd be at the end of the hour episode of CSI:MB.
Turns out the episode is continued

I hope this little punk is watching this thread and dumping in his shorts. Let this be a lesson to any others out there that want to try ripping people off. You might get a way with it for a month, a year...hell, maybe even 2 years, but sooner or later you are gonna scam the wrong person/people and your number is gonna be called!

I owe everyone here a big thank you. I got a google refund today from this scumbag. I wasn't going to be out of pocket anyway, but this certainly makes it easier. Thanks to everyone again!!!
