Everyone with a V1 detector........

Help please...

1. Where is your V1 unit located? Not the concealed display, the actual V1.
2. What mode do you drive around in? Why?
3. Any problems I should be aware of?

Probably not very hard questions to answer, but I just want to make sure I use it right. Anything else I should know? Thanks. I appreciate any help.

I mounted mine above the rear view mirror, between the mirror and the headliner with the suction cup mount. I have excellent range in the Logic mode, and no issues with getting picked off for speeding(window tint is a different story).

I just have mine mounted via suction cup on the middle lower windsheild so it can point reverse too. Works fine for me. I run it in Hwy mode pretty much all the time No issues.

Mine is at the same spot as yous except I use the visor mount, reversed it and clipped it into the headliner. No view of ugly suction cups from exterior

I almost did that, but I have a shaded area around the mirror, so they are hidden anyways.

I mount mine low in the windshield.

I run in logic mode with K band programmed out. Too many shopping centers and junk in LA.

I just purchased this setup from a board member. It looks pretty slick. I'll have it installed by the weeks end. The rear-view mirror houses the controls and the display. The unit is mounted in a modified rear speaker grill housing that I'm told has a perfect sight line.

Wow. Very clean

Do you still have the RS4? I'm considering part ex-ing my M3 for one, though most liklihood is I'll stick with the Beemer

Yes, I've decided to keep it for a while. Actually, the more I drive it the better I like it. I had it as well as my E55 at a car show yesterday and you would have thought I was a rock star. Mostly a muscle car crowd but those guys sure do love German machinery.

BTW, I looked at the new M3 and I'm just not feeling it. Keep the E46......now that's a timeless car.

Thank you. I must say I still think the E46 M3 is one of the most beautiful cars on the road and the I6 just sings. I will very likely keep it but my main reason is wifee will kill me if I spend anymore on autos and just getting my daughter a mini and upgrading from my '99 F150.

I saw an RS4 just yesterday though and man that is a beauty. Glad you like it. I've heard nothing but good things and the perfect foil for the freeway power of the E55.

I use the big L. Cuts down on the false alarms. Never failed me.

Agree, big L "metro mode" is the way to go. Much less chatter. I'm mounted just left of rear view, straight shot front and back.

Well, I was gonna link my thread that had pictures of the hardwire job I did and the location, but the thread is gone?

Mine is hardwired to the upper electrical console and sits right above the left side of my rear view mirror with a clear view to the front and back as well. Works great.

There's a button somewhere on the main screen (I think at the bottom) where you can select what pots to show. Default is "post from last month" I think.
