New Lexus IS/F on the road yesterday. Made NO noise.

Not a poser. It was the real deal with 30 day tags on it. Are they really for sale in the US already?? Said IS/F in the back in Gold and car was a reddish.

Car actually looked pretty nice but my kid pointed it out to me thinking it was a tricked out ricer. OUCH!!!

I am turning left at intersection, he was going straight. As he accelerated to move forward and go past me, did not hear a thing from the exhaust. Needless to say, if it had been a C63, my windows would have been vibrating.

Fun part was my car picked the perfect time to start it's radical loping. Yup, right on cue, she starts rocking and loping on me. He must have been tripping.

Now that I am about finished typing I think I just got the idea, he was breaking it in like the C63 guys are now.

Didn't blow me away in looks but it did stand out in the crowd.

Wish we could have got it on, but had my 13 year old with me so it was all for the best anyway.

That's why you pull over and drop him off at a McDonald's and say "here's a quarter, call your mom to pick you up" and get back on the road, and go after him. After all, you're in an AMG, you'll catch him to him. Might as well get a burger since you're at McDonald's anyway...

Ive seen a few on the roads, they've been in dealers for a few months now.. Nice looking, except for the fake stacked exhaust tips

I REALLY do not like the ISF looks. I'd be more comfortable driving an IS350...

I've seen one on the road and the kid was right... it does look like a tricked out ricer. Not a bad looking car, but for the price point there are better choices... namely the C63, the M3 or a used AMG E class.

+1, they really didn't inject class into the thing. The C63 is by far more handsome, but I do love the new M3's styling as well.

I prefer new M3 to C63 but think E92 has lost aggression of E46 M3

I have also seen a few of them around and actually had the chance to sit in one at the dealership. In regards to price the car comes with all the electronic gadgets, awesome nav system, killer stereo and so on for less than the C63 or M3 but it is Lexus' first attempt at hi-performance so it would not be my 1st choice over its German rivals.

I was at the dealership and checked one out. I think it looks kind of cool (keep in mind I am indeed a ricer at heart ). The interior was really nothing special. Very plain and boring. The only part I really liked of the whole car was the aluminum/carbon-fiber weave style trim. That was a real eye catcher and I think it'd put a sparkle in a young woman's eye. I do like the car, but with the stacked tail-pipes, sub-par interior, and C63-like price tag...I think I'll pass.

I had an '06 IS350. I liked it very much. Yes, the IS/F has a subdued exhaust note, unlike my grumbly E63 - which I love...

The IS had a cool nav and standard leather seats. I don't know why the new C-class has standard MB-Tex. I don't get the rationale. My IS was mostly perfect, but it was plagued with dash rattles from day one, which the dealership was not able to fully fix/detect.

My E63 is very tight, smooth and quiet - except for that nasty exhaust note. Not one problem in the 6 months of ownership.

But I would rather pick the C63 over the IS/F. Just my personal preference.

I think it was Road & Track that I read yesterday and they did a comparison between the IS-F, RS4, C63 and M3 sedan. C63 was rated #1,then came the M3, then the RS4, then the IS-F. As a first attempt it was a nice try, but it simply wont cut it when it tries to keep up with the others who have been at it for quite some time now. And just like the E-AMG and the M5, the C63 is the straightline performer and the M3 is for the track.

TopGear comparison between C63, M3 coupe, Rs4:

Sorry about the tangent

The IS-F's have been available at our local dealerships here for a at least a couple of months. I actually test drove one, courtesy of a good friend of mine who works as a sales manager at the Lexus dealership

The car felt very light, very agile, and well built, but just didn't have enough extras over the normal IS. I think they needed more styling differences and a bit more aggression to make it stand out from the normal ISs. It reminded me of the C230 sport vs C32; both cars looked almost identical except for very minor changes. But for a first attempt into the performance market, I think overall Lexus did a good job.

I heard rumors that Lexus is working on a GS-F to compete with the E63, M5, RS6, etc..... Supposedly, it is to have 540 hp plus all the performance extras.

IS-F's silver CF trim looks crappy and sport seats could've been better....

I actually havent been in an IS-F yet, but the R&T comparison said that the seats were great. They could be wrong though, again.
