CLS63 exhaust on a W211?

Are the mufflers (CLS63/E55) interchangeable? i.e. same shape?

Thanks

they should be
the CLS and E w211 have the same chasis, and general layout, only the sheetmetal and acoutraments are different..

most mufflers can be retrofitted anyway by a talanted exhaust shop..
so you should be OK..

alot of people have used universal mufflers on their w211 so,,if that helps

good luck

Mr. AMG 20 - I see you have both the CLS63 and E55. Can I ask a favor from you? Can you take a peak under both cars and see if the mufflers are the same shape?

I think this is the shape of the W211 muffler

Thanks

Jangy - I'm doing this purely for the look. I've had my car 5.5 years now, and getting bored. going to do the AMG kit - no AMG badges on my car though!

Just want to make sure this exhaust fits before I buy it from another MBWorld member.

Got it. Dude, I'd bet a nut that most MB mufflers would fit. Is the deal a good one? If so, move on and get it. What else are you doing?

I know you're not talking trash. $900 for an 8-month old CLS63 exhaust from another member.

I'm still trying to find pics of the CLS exhaust...no luck so far.

I bought a used 55AMG front bumper this morning
Also want to do a 63AMG rear bumper and skirts

That will be it...for now

Mr AMG 20 - thanks a lot. Much appreciated!

lexaltezza - so far, everyone I've asked *thinks* your exhaust will fit my car. But no definite *yes* answers yet. Once I confirm that the muffler shape is the same, I'm ready to buy from you. I PM'ed you

Why don't you just stop by a MB dealer and compare?
I see you are in the BA, or you can stop by and look at my car?

AK63, thanks for the offer. Where are you located? I might stop by.

It hadn't come to mind to check out the car at the dealer, but it'd look funny walking into the showroom and sticking my head under the car

I tried asking my parts department, but let's say the guy I spoke with yesterday wasn't very well informed. He didn't even think I could order AMG parts there.

HI
I hope this helps,,
this is a picture of the W211 W muffler up close..
like I say CLS and E w211 the chasis and under dimentions are the same..
I had a Performance Exhaust shop hook up a CLS 63 muffler to my car
to see if it sounded any better, it was nice and FIT but in the end, I chose the custom Remus stainless Sport exhaust cause your can tune it with a flow adjustment knob to change the sound a little, (very cool) and the Remus muffler which sounded better and was more freeflowing, and growling..like.

the amg mufflers are nice, but still have some baffles and are not 100% straight through .. as the exhaust tech showed me a cutaway one, he had

dont know if that helps you but hope so

agreed Jangy and well said,, gratz

I hooked a CLS 63 muffler to my car and as you say it still does not sound like a CLS 63, lol..

my exhaust tech said when he hooked it up to several other AMG mercs as well, for customers to hear that is still sounds different on the CLS somehow and that it may be the CLS headers are slightly different, or an angle or 2 somewhere that causes a didferent sound..

lol

so I chose the Remus stainless sport mufflers that you can adjust and am really happy with it, sounds amazing. really happy with it because it has alot of midtone and howl and yet also a low end grumble, without sounding to burble like a boat.

they do some OEM for Ferrari, and Ducati racing bikes and Audi, etc.. and do alot of Formula 1 racing stuff so they have a great rep

ferrari 360 with Remus exhaust

M5 with remus( this one sounds amazing)

I guess tis
another one of the wierd merc muffler mysteries varying from car to car lol

You don't have an exhaust tech, you don't even have an AMG. Remus makes crap, but I guess that belongs on your POS rebadge. GTFO you poser.

I stopped by my MB dealer today. They had a CLS63 in the showroom, so I stuck my head underneath the car The muffler shape looks like the W211. Didn't measure it, but it sure looks the same. I think I'm good to go Thanks for the help!

this is where you start to show your ignorance..
and you should know as a BMW owner, that alot of BMW M owners use them,
and the racing team has been involved with them as well

remus does more racing exhaust setups than almost anyone,
the do Formula 1, + Grouppe B racing in europe, +LEmans
+Porsche SuperCup ,+ FIA GT World Championship ++ BAJA 1000 and GT 3 to name a few

the OEM for Ferrari, Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Ducati $50,000 racing bikes..
they also do alot of european world rally races
they are considered one of the best motocycle racing mufflers in the world
accoring to my friend whose cousin races motorcycles professionally on ESPN, and SPD networks

they make mufflers for almost everyone.. !

here is a partial list of some of their OEM clients, full list is too long
and I heard you have ADD disorder anyways.

their high end exhaust mufflers are made from carbon fiber and are really lightweight

notice kleeman and brabus up there.. lol

here are some links to their racing heritage so you can educate yourself on remus, instead of sounding like an idiot. and mouthing off.

http://www.remususa.com/epages/remus...ies/VideoRemus

they are one of the largest exhaust companies in the world, they just dont put thier name on everything , they just make and tune them..

this is another example provided to your to educate your sorryass..

if you knew anything about racing, you would know about remus, which is why I do and you dont lol

now go away, and cry cause your dumb

That was the Osama Bin Laden of pathetic insults. You even used the possessive form of the word.

Dude I don't give a *****e about OEM clients, little Honda ******** and VeeDub c^nts throw Remuses on their *****boxes, if you're going to do it then do it right. I could give a damn about an EXHAUST COMPANY's racing heritage dude. Nice google job again, did you copy and paste that right off their website?

I would only cry out of pity for your delusional carcass. You've shown me what it is to be truly without any shred of dignity, and I laugh to the bottom of my soul at your pathetic attempts to upset me, because all they do is further the magnificence of your own failure.

well one thing is for sure,, they are the largest exhaust manufacturer in the world , rated by alot of race teams as excellent
and are a world maket leader 90% export rate, 5 continents - more than 60 countries

I notice as usualy you insult and flame without a single fact or retort,
cause you know you walked into this one, looking like a world class IDIOT
so either they are all wrong all theOEMs who use Remus, or your an IDIOT, and I thing the latter.. lol

You can neither spell nor quote anything properly, and I'm the dumb one? Bro get a some proper grammar, A PROPER AMG, take those ridiculous badges off your car, and stop trying to pitch Remus as some top shelf *****e using the marketing materials on their website. It's call plagiarism.

Hey do you like my new thread? I was thinking about you when I made it. I was reminiscing about the time that you told me you were going to get the FBI to track me down for harassing you online.
