Best Place to buy Replacement Front Rotors & Pads?

Does anyone know the best place to buy brakes pads and rotors for our cars besides the dealership?

Try the EVO or VRP 2 piece ones. I love the design and results. someplace (clayton knows) has one pice cross drilled ones that are cheap. I'd upgrade pads either way.

I believe a member here is selling his used rotors that have 15K miles on them if interested in saving money.

For pads I would get something with less brake dust. I know Evosport sells some.

My car has 28000 miles and the dealership said the front rotors are glazed and the pads are really low. I was thinking of upgrading to VRP or EVO but I didn't think that the upgrade would make much of a difference.

Are you guys with upgraded rotors and pads feeling a difference in braking?

I am. The fronts are each 10lbs lighter and the rears are about 5lbs, so that alone makes the corners more nimble. Also, I no longer get the brakes overheated red warning. Last thing, the porterfield pads grab much crisper than the OEMs.

You are welcome to my OEM rotors.

I just installed the Porterfield's RS4s on the rear of my S Type R Jag. They are metalic kevlar pad compound. Compairing to the front OEM, they have more dust. They feel about 10% better in stopping.

I'm thinking of replacing them now with the EBS Reds with ceramic pads. They also claim to have very low dust.

I have heard, but not confirmed, that pads other than the OEM Brembos on the AMGs will disable the electronic brake pad wear sensors. Can anyone confirm this?

Just my $ .02 worth

Very minor. Meaning out of 20 stops, maybe..maybe once it will sqeak quietly.
100% improvement from my Brembo pads(noise wise), it sqeaks at every stop...

Nah, they are really nice. I just don't know if they make them for the E63 yet.

the porterfield pads have a groove in the metal, but no hole in the pad itself for the sensor to fit in. I didn't want to drill any holes in them so I left them out and the dealership dealt with it. I have never changed my pads based on sensor, though
