Slow ... relatively speaking but its their first year trying to play with the big boys.
The wifey works for Lexus so I might have one soon. Not bad to have an IS-F as a third car along with the M6 and 997TT IMO.

don't know about that. b/w the IS-F and M3, i believe they're very close in straight line performance and it'll be a driver's race.

IS-F traps 113-114 while the E55 should trap 114-116 so the E should pull slightly..........
Having said that, I ran a CLS55 in my IS-F from about 35-90 (hardly a race) and we were about even. I would love to run a stock E55 or a stock CLS55 (or 63 for that matter) anytime.
I am coordinating the next 60-130 competition at Lonestar and would offer up my IS-F in a side by side race on the drag strip. We can run them from a dig and a roll. Here is the detail on the event if anyone is interested:
OK, it's about that time again folks!!!!! We haven't had a 60-130 event since TX2K8 and it's time for us to have another excuse to get together. Since it's been SOOOOOOOOO hot outside, I would like to do this next event at night...
Location: www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com
Day/Date: Saturday July 26, 2008
Gates Open: 8:00 pm
Track Hot: 9:00 pm - 12:00 am (midnight)
Caravan Information: Meet at the Conoco at the corner of I-10 and Eldridge at 7:00 pm. Let's get a large group together so we can all caravan out together!!!!!!
Cost: $50 to race and $10 to spectate just like always

I can't view the video posted from the office but there are video's posted where the 6-speed M3 is slightly slower than the IS-F in gear. THe M-DCT is like a manual in that there is no slip/loss through the tranny and therefore in gear the result would be no different.

2007 E63
I will be posting a new thread regarding the ISF, 2007 M6 and 2008 F430 Spider. To answer your question quickly, I raced (for 10 miles) a brand new ISF in my E63. I will get into the specifics of the story on my other post (extremely funny circumstance), but the ISF did have 4 people in the car. I had one other with me, two total. We raced mostly on the highway, usually from around 30MPH to 150MPH. The E63 won by such a margin I actually wondered if the ISF was running correctly. It got so bad that I actually gave him a little jump, between half and a full car length at 30MPH and then nailed it. We blew by him and had 3 car lengths at 150MPH.
Again, the ISF did have 4 people in it...

Again, I am putting myself out there and offering a friendly race for anyone in Houston with a stock E55/63 or CLS 55/63. I am also ok with whomever would like to run to bring a camera and video tape the run. Finally, I am offering an OPEN INVITE to all of you to the July 26th event at Lonestar. Not much more I can do...

I had a chance to drive the IS-F , M3 and an M6 (manual) at the track three weeks ago for a "Car and Driver" article which will be published in October, 2008 I believe.
I do not own an E55 or E63 but I am guessing my M5 is close to these cars with rolling races. That being said, the IS-F (aside from the fake tailpipes, the car looks great BTW) has no chance vs an E55/E63 from a role (or dig for that matter).
Just a heads up for those C&D subscribers: the M3 is the overwhelming favorite (for track use) from the editors.

I have seen several of these on the Hwy around here. Not at the track, but they always want to try and race... am usually game unless conditions arent good for it and whenever I nail each time i have wondered wether they were nailing it or not....in other words being several car lengths out in front of it. i personally think they are good looking cars for what they are, but in no way compete with the m5 or the E "AMG's". At least that is in my experience. We are planning a Nov 15 MIR drag track event if anyone with one of these ISF's would like to show up to it I am sure there are several AMG's such as myself that would be happy to have some freindly races

Ok. Let's be real here. The IS F would not get killed or raped by a benz and it's certainly not a "slow" car like some of you have mentioned. It would challenge and/or even beat ANY NON AMG Benz with the exception of the CL, S,SL classes etc. In other words, the C, CLK and E classes are all fair game as far as I'm concern. How about that. Don't be bias just keep it real please. For any of you that disagrees, please explain, show a vid or something of any of the NON AMG CLASS cars raping or killing an IS F

but how does comparing the performace division at Lexus to the non-performance (non-AMG merc cars) make sense? If you want to do that comparison, do non lexus "F" cars versus non-AMG merc cars.
I dont think anyone siad the IS-f was slow. I have had a similiar experience with a blue IS-F on the highway and I was surprised. I expected the car to be quicker and keep up more so. Its just that E55s and E63s are faster, thats all.
