Veloce Tuners ???
Has anyone used these guys?
I talked to one of their sales guys, John, today. I asked him what they have available for the E63. I was suprised to hear him say their ECU tune resulted in 560HP. He didn't have a torque figure on hand (I called him at 6PM) but said he would get back to me with it. He also said they have a TCU tune. He quoted much better shift times and better overall driveability.
$2500 for the ECU / $2000 for TCU - $400 off if you do both
Given that both Renntech and Powerchips have only seen approximately 30HP, I find it hard to believe these guys are getting over 50HP...can anyone confirm or deny?
Thanks - Dan

hhmmmm...
I would ask them to show proof of their gains. As far as I know just doing an ECU/TCU tune on our cars WONT give you those kind of numbers. Sorry to burst their bubble.

They had exact similar claims for their 55k ECU tune, but when asked for proof, they never showed it
On the E55, an ECU tune maybe worth 20 to 30 hp, but on the E63, I wouldn't expect mroe than 10 to 15 hp.

I like Dino. He seems like a really nice guy, but his numbers always seem a bit higher than everyone else if ya know what I mean.
I am pretty sure what VRP/Renn and Klee are putting out is bout as good as we can get it right now

An ECU flash on an otherwise stock E63 will give you minimal real world gains.Maybe after headers, full exhaust, intake mods etc, then the extra fuel would allow for horsepower gains.
I'm all about having a fast 63,I want to have the fastest for a long time to come but I would never mess with the ECU on my stock car.I heard the horror stories&enjoy my factory warranty

well think 15-20 is a little low. I think 20-25 is most realistic as that is what most everyone else is claiming.
I would tell them this....You will pay for the ECU/TCU tune, but if their numbers dont pan out when you DYno it right afterwards that you want your money back!
I think most tuners can probably get the 20-25 hp out of a 63 with a tune, but dont expect anymore then that.

I asked and everyone responds "it's too dependent upon conditions and variables."

There was a stock S600 that after Veloce ECU tune made 470rwhp and ran 12.30 @ 114.17 both the dyno and 1/4 time, these numbers are on par for a STOCK car.

V12-Biturbo
I've had multiple N/A cars tuned before
The last one was my 2005 C6 Corvette, even w/Longtube Headers hi-flo cats X-pipe & Bullet cat-back exhaust, the ECU/TCU tune only made about 17 rwhp. I had it Tuned by 2 different tuners same rwhp rwto results.
Basically an ECU/TCU tune is going to make your car feel faster due to faster shifts, throttle body settings drivability will be increased etc... 25-60 Crank Horsepower on a N/A E63 or ANY N/A car is pure & utter Bullsheet
This kind of advertising is just wrong, & the pricing quoted?? ($2500 for the ECU / $2000 for TCU - $400 off if you do both) is asinine You'd think they were tuning a 600/65 model for that kind of money??

dont have it anymore.... deal reflash/update my ECU and cleared it out... i really like even if it did not make anymore HP. buy they want too much to reflash it back... so I may try other brands now.

But wait....the dude pushing the Veloce stuff on this site said his ECU flash allowed his SL55 to run to 200mph..he said it so it must be true

he posts a lot on bimmerforums.com too claiming his wonderful power gains by tuning. People on bf.com dont know any better though, so they think he's a genius.

And,lets all not forget that a savvy dyno operator knows how to spike the dyno to give false readings on the high side...seen it happen too many times before. Then the customer comes to a site like this one&claims he just gained 50hp from a ECU flash...but the educated motorheads know it's all notin but B.S.
