2006 E55 Price Advise

Guys,

How much would you offer for this E55. It isn't a CPO even though the low mileage.

Thanks for the help.

I just paid $47,500 for an 06 with 19,200 miles. Options include Navi, Pano, Sirius, Dyn & Vent Seats, Keyless go, electric trunk. Car does not have park/dis tronic. I hope this helps.

Damn, good deal. Is it a CPO?

I would have said $50 -55

I would offer $50k at the most. You can't really tell the condition based on those pics, but it looks nice.

No, not CPO. In service was 03/06 so I have almost 2 years of full warranty which is plenty for me. I have a really bad habit of changing cars every 18-24 months and I figured the 5K +/- I saved will cover any repairs after the warranty.

sounds high to me....i just picked up an 05 with 1,800 miles for $51,750

i would think $55K at most for that especially since the 05-06 models are pretty much the same except you get the extra year in the warranty

hope this helps

good luck

The $5K won't come close. No problems with you dumping it BEFORE the warranty runs out, but remember that it will be practically worthless without a warranty. You do have two years, though.

1800 miles? sweet!!

There is a difference in the '05 and '06. i should know I dumped an early '05 build for the '06 and the difference for me was huge. '05 and '04 are close (few changes), but again, the '03 is different.

2006 E55 AMG
I just purchased my 06 E55 CPO with 25k plus for 57k out the door here in Northern Cal. I negotiated the overall price which included a extra 2 year factory warranty, which gives me a total of 4 years or 70K plus left on the warranty. Less about 10% my purchase price without tax and license was around 52k.

When you say wothless without warranty what kind of loss would you expect? Do most of you guys dump your E55 before the warranty runs out or just extend it with a aftermarket warranty?

you would now more than i would....my build date is 4/05 is so it it a late build for an '05...noticed i have ventilated seats as part of the premium package

in service date was 10/05 so my warranty is good til 10/09 as i dont expect to have over 50k miles so i'm very happy with my purchase

and yes...it has 1868 miles to be exact!

In all probability I will not have have this car after the warranty has expired. If I still have the car after the warranty it's because I really love the car and have not had problems with it. If that's the case I would buy an extended warranty.

Why would this car depreciate more than another (non-CPO)? Of course I have seen this car in person, multiple times. I have driven it as well. I have been looking for months and I have not come across a car this clean with under 20,000 miles anywhere near this price in Florida. Of course you can find them on Ebay, etc. but I rather buy local. But all this doen't really matter to me. Of course I don't want to get crushed, however if I was worried about re-sale I would not buy an AMG (or M) car. I would buy a Honda...... I'm going to enjoy it, drive it like it was meant to be driven, cause they dont put 470 HP and 500+ torque to drive at 55MPH and not worry about what the car is going to be worth in 2 years.....

Jangy,

All things being equal, what are the differences between an '05 and an '06. I've been flopping between the two years - but I know I can't be picky.

Most either dump them or get the drivetrain extended warranties.`Bro, when i say worthless it means "hot potatoe". I love benzos and a warranty is such cheap peace of mind, but I would NEVER have a new one without warranty. same would go for a P, M, whatever.

Just make sure that you either sell it or get the extended warranty BEFORE the warranty fades. It isn't even that the drivetrain is not reliable. It is just crappy expensive to work on and parts are hard to come by.

yeah, i was thinkin about going for an m5 or something different but when i saw this...it was a no brainer to be able to scoop up an 05 with 1800k miles for $51,750....(the freakin front seats barely have a crease in them!!!)

'04 began some of the changes, but they were phased in so there is no exact build date for ALL differences. They were fairly minor IMO, like the Butterfly armrest became a wood rollup door (boo), "rest" feature was deleted from the HVAC setup (again boo), the choice to use the cabin air filter was removed (no issue since it is always on now) and the ability of the single disc CD to read DVDs or MP3s. That type of stuff.

Now, the CLS was introduced in '05 and slowly, the parts from the 219 trickled over to the 211.

Airmatic Shocks and the steering rack were converted over some time in '05. All '06s have them, but some '05s do as well.

All 55s built in '06 also got a new version of the SC clutchpack and water pump along with associated software updates.

thanks bro.....the best part about this was my insurance company valued my total loss on my vehicle at $54,200 (unbelievable!!!) and my car had 37k miles on it.

I swapped my loss with a basically brand new 05 and didn't have to pay .01 out of pocket

Ed at HMS is def one cool kat...i'll be having him do quite a bit of work for me

BTW, anyone looking to switch insurance companies or is looking for an insurance company try AAA.

Not only did they value my loss above and beyond what I expected (I paid $58 and got $54.2 back after putting 17k on it and driving for exactly 1 year)
the customer service, responsiveness, was at A1 level. I truly felt they were on my side throughout the entire ordeal.

1000%. If I still have the car in 18 months I will seek the best warranty available at that time. We all know that there is no such thing as a "simple fix" when it comes to cars like these.....
