Ahmad, thanks those were the wheels, I'm going to look into ordering a set for the front this morning...6 pounds each? There goes about 19 more pounds, the front Dymags are slightly over 15 a piece.

I should have all the tools anyone is going to need. I'll have a couple generators, compressor, floor jacks, ramps, jack stands, torque wrenches, impact guns, my rig is pretty well equiped, if I did not mention something you guys might need let me know I will throw it in...I might even be bringing a couple strippers

This event was being billed as a HUGE EAST vs. WEST Showdown, So far we have 1 guy representing the West Coast 7 East coasters and 5 from the midwest...you West coast guys should be ashamed (Juicee in particular ) granted it's not just a hop skip and a jump away, but you guys have known about this thing since February. I guess we what part of the country is not affraid of some friendly competition don't we?

Since you are running 18's you have no choice. The top tire (ET Street) is a bias ply tire so you would need a bias ply tire up front as well. You should be able to hook 1.6's with the ET Street Radials, thats what I'm getting since I didnt go with the skinnies up front.

Nice! Thats a great price! Don't know if you'd be interested but would you want to swap wheels for a pass to see the difference between our setups? I.e. my 16" 245/50/16 CCW's with MT ET Street Radials vs. your 18's with 265/40/18 ET Street Radials? I want to see if I made the right decision or just wasted money on 16's

Becasue I saw a modded Maybach totally smoke a C6 corvette in a drag race a week ago, it was not even close. Besides it looks like most of the heavily modded 65's are running mid 10's, I think I have a high 10 second car...at best.
I will race anyone, even for money, but I want it to at least be a decent race.

You are beating all the 55's and some 65's as well...

Beating all the 55's is setting your goals pretty high... I will run you off the bottle. If I get a tune for the nitrous before then, we can run on the bottle too
I think Nitrous_Nate will take you in his 55

You have to set you goals high, but beating all the 55's is not that high of a goal. Now doing it on motor only would be a goal. You know what I have run, I peeked at that fastest list and I'm right there with the fastest 55's now with more mods to come.

I should go high 10's as well, I am impressed by the E55 with spray running 10.7's...that's a goal, very impressive indeed. I know you are not going to bring a knife to a gun fight, you are coming to break records

If you go high tens off the bottle I will be VERY impressed. I'm already impressed with what you have done NA. If I had money like you I would go turbo and destroy all the other benzes... but I dont

I'm way ahead of you on the turbo. I would be interested to hear what have you found out about a turbo for your 63? I've talked with three different (the best) companies about turbos for my car and I got pretty much the same response for all of them, too much work and $$$ for not much gain. In a nutshell I was told you have to completely rebuild the motor, sturdy up the entire motor/block/heads and 2 of them said possibly lighten the crank. All 3 recomended nixing the turbo and just rebuilding the engine, 8 or 9mm over bore, higher compression pistons, rockers arms, lifters, new valves, heads cams and springs and make an extra honest 90-100 hp in the process and not have to deal with the cooling and lag issue a turbo will have to face. They all stated that if I did elect to go the turbo route I would be lucky to see gains of 120 hp.
Let me know if you have any different info but the numbers and $$$figures they quoted me were not worth the investment and you know I don't have a problem throwing money into my money pit that is called a Black Series

Ford GT blocks are T356 Al and over 1" thick around the bores, they are good for 2000HP+. We built Joe's Stage 6 Ford GT motor that makes 1700rw on turbo alone.
In order to prep a 6.2 for serious turbo duty you would need to use quality 2618 pistons with lower C/R, billet rods, and rebalance the bottom end. The stock crank would be fine and there is no reason to lighten it. Stock heads/cams/intake would suffice because the turbo/turbos (not the motor behind it/them) make the power.
You could easily make 1000HP with a single 80mm turbo with a 6.2. The kit from Heffner/Stage 6 or someone of like quality would probably cost in the $30k range not including building the motor.

If you want to make any power with a trubo setup will need rods/pistons, port and polish heads with upgraded valvetrain and lower compression. You will also need a built trans and axles. You will probably have to go stand alone ECU management. If I put two GT28Rs I think it could easily make over 800whp
Jim, gimme $80k and I'll give you a 9s turbo benz (mine)

How are you going high 10's with 505 rwhp? In a Z06 yes but not a heavy Benz. What does your car weigh?

Turbo is NOT the way to go on a 63 motor, I can go into details, trust me on this one. I have talked to two Cosworth engineers in depth, if anyone on this planet knows turbos it's them. They said it can be done, but it's not worth the cost of admission. I am going to trust what thet say. I was ready to cough up whatever kind off loot it would take, but they talked me out of it. Lets put it this way, if any of you Black Series geys are thinking about it you would be better off going to trade your car in for the new SL 65 Black Series, it would be close to a break even deal. I've talked to 3 companies about it they all pretty much said the same thing.
