Payment sent.

My brother can't make it, so no 8 second wheelstanding runs this time.

But I'll either bring my E500 or I'm seriously considering running the R500 for kicks. I'm taking on all +14.00 cars.

So far so good. Sat is projected to be 62/39F (was hoping for a lower high temp) with a 30% chance of showers at MIR/Mechanicsville.

I just got off the phone with MIR and they said they will be charging $10/spectator at the gates because it is an exclusive weekend track rental and I didnt want the racers to pay $200/car. I tried to get the following day as a rain date but they have a test and tune then. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

fingers are crossed.

new record for a 335 was set this past Saturday in CA, 11.865 @118.249 mph. I'm going to running all the same mods other than an LSD (which is huge IMO) so we'll see how much I suck at rowing the gears

The weather forecast isn't looking too great right now fellas. If the forecast doesnt get better in the next couple days I am considering pushing back the event one week to the following saturday (Nov. 22nd). I understand that this may be inconvenient for some people and I will be refunding the money of those that cant make the rain date (if we need to use a rain date). Let me know how you guys feel about that. I'm sorry but the weather is out of my control. I would absolutely hate for people to travel this far for drag racing and not be able to do so because of weather.

Although it's OSU v MI at home (11/22), I'd still rather come out a week later than waste a trip due to weather. Based on the distance some people are traveling to the event (IL, MI, NY, etc) it may be a good idea to reschedule sooner than later, we have to change hotel plans etc.

Ahmad, what time do the gates open and does racing begin on Sat?

Thanks

I understand the distance/travel/hotel concern but we all know weather forecasters arent exactly perfect. Weather.com is calling for a 40% chance of rain and accuweather.com is calling for 5% chance as of right now. It is a hard call to make which is why I wante dto wait a couple days since the forecasts become more accurate. I have to think about this but the more input I get from you all the more informed decision I can make. Plus getting the word out to everyone about the changed date would be a little difficult but doable

The local news weather is calling for clear skies. I will make the final call thursday morning. Sorry guys.

Ahmad,
Thursday morning is not early enough to change plans for hotels/travel. Most are leaving Thurs/Fri to get there. I'm actually flying someone up from FL to watch my dog Fri (I can't bring her, she used to be a puppy mill ***** and is not ready to be in contact with that many people nor is she healthy enough to go on a trip that long yet) and need to change flights/rental cars, etc.
I understand your predicament but the sooner we all know the better.

Thanks for understanding,
Andy

I understand. So let me ask you, is it going to rain on saturday or is it going to be nice racing weather?

Whatever the final decision we all appreciate your efforts to organize the event.

Personally I'd rather see it bumped out a week, partly to increase the odds of drier weather but also to increase the odds of getting cooler weather.

I understand your position is a tough one bro.

Would it be possible to make Sunday the 16th or 23rd the rainout days for the 15th and 22nd respectively?

I just got off the phone with Marko, he was planning on leaving this Wednesday for a Sat race.

I also agree that the weather this sat (62F for a high) isn't what most were probably expecting. I was personally hoping for 40s.
