The Beast is in pieces...in cosmetic and audio surgery...:)

The car is tore apart:

1. ALL chrome trim has been stripped and refinished with a faux carbon fiber finish.
2. The audio system is getting reworked to include all Focal front and rear stage speakers and STEG amplification.
3. The rear deck is being modified to include 2 low profile Exile 12" subs and STEG amplification.
4. The trunk will be lined with alacantra and carpet with embossed AMG logos and AMG blue lit accents.
5. All the interior wood pieces has been stripped off and are getting refinished in piano black.
6. The front grill was replaced with CL carbon fiber faux finish (star is missing in photos but that is also in CF finish).
7. The CCW rims have been repainted with with gunmetal center mesh and black glossy lips (the pics don't do them justice).

Damn...I just noticed that...If it is one I might just try and integrate one into the trunk. The original sub design was 1 sub enclosure with a JL13W7 powered by a JL 1000/1...I play a lot of golf and wanted my clubs to fit but the weight of the sub enclosure only on one side was significant.

This sub enclosure attached to the rear deck will now hold 2 low profile Exile subs amplified by a STEG amp into 2ohm mono setup. I can still fit golf clubs and the weight is distributed evenly across the trunk.

Albert...by doing this I'm actually reducing the weight ! The subs/enclosure and STEG amps will reduce weight by 20lbs.

From what I've heard in demo vehicles and independent literature they seem to stack up pretty well. I believe the STEG seems to be more ballsy but with sound quality top notch.

are you shaving the door handles - thus making your car lo-lo style - hahaha - j/k - i think it is going to look hot! those wheels looks 100x better than before.

any pics of your previous set up? I was thinking of doing a single sub but now you have my rethinking my idea. I was thinking of going with Elemental Designs.

can't wait to see the finished product!

Mike...I was almost pulling the trigger on shaved door handles, but I opted just to get the chrome trim on the handles refinished.

As far as the rear sub...go with the under the rear deck. It will look cleaner...just make sure that they sound deaden the top part and put foam between the bottom part of the deck and the top of the sub enclosure.

Thanks guys for all the comments...I'll post more pics in later stages. The next round of mods will probably be to extend the alacantra to the dash and get the seats reappholstered...I'm thinking of getting a diamond cut pattern (ala Continental GT style) with contrasted stitching.

They've already quoted me about $3500 for front/rear seats and door trim. I'm still waiting for the dash trim upgrade quote.
