Helllpp guys. Truth or Myth about driving in dyno mode??
Only way to fix it will be for my tech to reflash it. I did discover the car will start in dyno mode so I need to drive it down about 30 miles in dyno mode to the dealer.
We've all heard about the car going limp or shutting off with longer driving in dyno mode.
Anyone have first hand experience or know of someone who has had it happen. If so, I'll just have a flatbed take it down next week.
Ugh, one wrong button on Star and POOF.

REMEMBER, Benz gives you a SIM mode in Star so go to programs and look for the Sim. That is a simulator for you to learn/play around with Star so you can get the feel for it. Sim works and pretends you have a car hooked up to it without fear of damage.
I actually have the "developer" version which allows you to go deep into the car. I ended up inside the coding of the ESP unit and when I realized this was serious stuff, I backed out but hit F2 (which erased the line of code) and not F1 which is always "back up a step" in Star. Use F1 first if you ever have a question. F2 is always execute a command.
You'll understand once you get inside Star and start learning.
It's a bit tricky at first to figure out what is happening in Star but be patient and you'll catch on.
developer? huh? anyone have "the best" setup to buy and is it really just $5k?

btw, since it was brought up...there's no need to go into dyno mode to do burnouts at the track and you're not gaining any hp. you can get your tires plenty warm by simply turning esp off.
Thanks so much to Brian S for taking some screen shots of his car on Star. It was a simple highlighting and saving error (it's a star thing)
Fixed it and I am back in business.
Again, CAREFUL to all you Star rookies!! Like me..
