Anybody ever see a valve dug into a piston?

OK, lets tear down this free S4 engine and rebuild it (timing belt had snapped)!



Wait a second, thats not right! Where did the valve go?






Oh HI!!!











Thought some of you might think that was cool. I know it's not E55 related

Prety neat pic. Just shows how much pressure and force there is inside a combustion engine. I used to work at a shop that races top fuel funny cars. They were actually the world record holder at one point. The shop had a ton of weird broken parts they kept as momentos. Cool to look at.

did the timing chain skip or brake thats the only time ive seen something like that. crazy though

Yes, I mentioned the timing belt snapped in the original post.

Hopefully the valve went out the exhaust.

You can also see how that thing got bounced around in there and damaged the piston before it got wedged between the piston and cylinder wall - OUCH that must have sounded nasty !!!
