E55 vs CL600 vs M5 (video)
I own a stock E55 and this past weekend raced with my cousin who recently bought a CL600. We raced from 30 to 115 and we were pretty much even until 80 where the CL pulled at least 2 cars on me. Unfortunately we did not take a video of this, but I'm sure we will race again! After an hour he called to tell me that he had just lost against his friend's M5, who took the races on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmyEQmSgrns . I think he mentioned the M5 has 20hp extra due to intake mods. But I still don't see how an M5 can pull on a v12 600 like that, and does that mean I shouldn't even bother racing his friend's M5 since the CL which beat me lost to it? Time for mods I guess!

Ive been in touch with the M5 driven on M5board, he wont race my car, then again i dont blame him because it would be shear slaughter, but I have a stock cl65 for him to race that he thinks he can beat, again it will be a slaughter fest and I will be driving the 65. There will be video. He also has added exhaust, weaksauce, stay tuned for a nice M5 kill to come. SamE55 I would like to look at your car since youre local, you shouldnt be getting your butt kicked by these stock cars, possible IC pump issues. email me jason@absolutelydriven.com

Ive been in touch with the M5 driven on M5board, he wont race my car, then again i dont blame him because it would be shear slaughter, but I have a stock cl65 for him to race that he thinks he can beat, again it will be a slaughtet fest and I will be driving the 65. Vic, actually LOTS of love and respect for the V10 motor, its amazing and performs incredibly, and the sound is to die for. BUT, this kid is 19 yrs old, local, and needs a wakeup call. When/if we meet up I will be driving the CL65 "alarm clock"

I just watched that video, and the only conclusion I can get to is that something has gotta be wrong with that CL.
There's no way that a 98% stock M5 should be walking a tt600 at all, let alone by the bus-lengths shown in the video. The CL has more horsepower and an extra 200+ lb-ft of torque, and the M5's weight advantage was eaten up by having two passengers vs. one in the CL.
Who's CL is that? I think it needs a trip to the shop, followed by a rematch.

The race from a dead-stop tells a very interesting story.
The CL pulled the M5 by 2-3 lenghths out of the hole and by - my guess - 115 mph (about 12 seconds) - he walked past the 600?????
Let me put this in perspective; I raced Gallardo's, C6 Z06's, and Vipers. If I got that kind of jump on them (which I never did, they were only about 1.5 car lenghts) it took them until 110+ to go around me. My friend with a Gallardo took until 115 to go around me and I only got a car-length out of him out of the hole (different story and debate how I could out-launch a 500 HP AWD 3700 lb car but it is what it is...)
M5's are fast - really fast - when modded. The one that spanked the CL did not have "just" 20 hp.

I don't know but after driving a few fast car's I feel like once I hit 4th gear on my e55 that's where the car begin's to slow down. Every car slow's down once it hit's high speed's but that's how I feel about my E55 after driving a 07 M6.

He poses like its his M5 but like you said, it is his cousins. Everybody clowns him. Those kids parents buy their kids nice things. One of his friends has a 997TT vert, picture 4 dorky guys rollin aroun in a 997TT vert with the top down thinkin they are the **** LOL
