Wow, isn't it just amazing how different the outcomes are when Gustav isn't behind a video???

Imagine that!

FYI, if you go to this guys videos, there a multiple races of a modified 550-570hp M5: Hamman headers, x-pipe, exhaust, ECU tune against a stock SL65 and CL65. Runs were done from a roll and from a dig, looks like the STOCK AMGs take the crown everytime.

It help in Moscow Russia...there are many othe ones as well there...

Well GTR beat all of them...SL65 beats M5 and so on...also 335XI chipped runs away pretty good from all other them from the start...

GTR is not broken in yet...only 200miles at that time...launching without launch control...there are also rolling starts with GTR vs M5 and it runs away easy...

This is only the beginning for the GT-R. Once more of them hit the street and people start modifying them, I bet we'll see amazing times.

Great videos....

Yep that M5 definitely had headers, obvious from the exhaust note. I'm really suprised the 65 walked it, then again I do watch a lot of m5board videos

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
I thot the M5 did very well against the SL65... I would have expected a larger margin win - but as you guys say the M was moddified.

The GTR is going to whip a$$ any day now...

I must have been watching the wrong videos because the GT-R destroyed the other two cars in the vids.

M5's with headers are about 565hp IIRC and about 500lbs lighter then the SL65.

SL65 AMG
what the hell was wrong with that sl65? I dont see how a 4000lb car that makes some 430whp beat a 4500lb car with 525whp and some 600wlbft?

It's called a bad driver....these guys that go run, don't go ready for war. If I was to run, I would go with drag radials all the way...lol!

Are they typically 525? I just saw a stock one dyno at 481rwhp/650rwto the other day. Maybe there's a wide variety of SLs out there...

Well most I have seen have been a bit north of 500 to the wheel, including mines.

Yeah, maybe inertia vs. load based dyno? What type of dyno did you have yours run on? The one I saw was a dyno dynamics, which is typically a lower number than the more common inertia dynos.

Come to think of it, I need to go run my car on an inertia dyno instead, so the numbers I post look better. Maybe my 503/680 will look more like 525/700+!
