One of my friends with a 335xi know's a guy with a V2 BMW 335i. My friend told me he want's to race my E55 and I'm gladly going too. Any1 ever had a run in with a chipped 335i, what should I expect? I think we are doing this tommorow night or next thursday night by roosevelt field mall. They have these meeting's every thursday night somewhere by that mall. Any1 ever go to one of these meets?

Be careful...I've never ran one but there have been posts here in recent weeks about similar run-ins.
I would search for these threads before tomorrow...IIRC a chipped 335 is no joke.
Gluck and let us know how it goes...

Just race him all the way up...when racing people always shut off early. With the TQ of the E55 uptop he should be killed no matter what.
Also when "So Called Racing" BMW hothead kids looking to challenge anyone with a fast car trying to claim glory..
watch out. Most of these clowns can get you or someone else killed.

I have to disagree. Those 335i's are pushing about 300 to the wheels. My cousin has a stock 335i coupe and it's fast. The V2 should give it somewhere close to 400 to the wheel"s from what I've heard. If thats true then it's going to be a good run.

Just make sure if you race from a dig that you make sure your tires "grip" before you go full throttle...you probably already know not to just mash the throttle or you'll be spinning like a MFer...
Lower the psi on the rears, set the tranny in S, suspension in C and have fun and be safe...
If your race in a roll...just make sure your revs are in the sweet spot (1800 to 2000) by manually downshifting to 2 or 3rd depending on the speed your at...good luck and be SAFE!

With a little tweeking I have tuned the 335 to around 420hp/470tq so you should be fine running that with your E55 as long as you run it out and get a good dig!
Boys will be boys. Maybe I'll see you at Best Buy in Westbury for the run. You should be solid bro!

335i has to be the second most overrated car in the world after Nissan GT-R ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
And I am a 335i owner myself. Great daily driver, but nothing to be exited about performance-wise. I get 16.5mpg in the city too

run him from a dig and woop his ***.. then run him from a roll but make sure you are in the lowest gear possible and mash it. anything above 60ish mph start in 2nd gear and let him have it! tape the runs is possible.

You are gonna be quite surprised by the chipped 335. Ain't gonna be a blowout that's for sure, but you launch well and you'll get the w.
I MEAN THIS. Run your heat blowing full blast front and back seats during the race even while driving there. You want as much heat sucked from that engine as possible. If even possible, show up to race location a tick early and pop the hood. If not possible, take er niiicccee and slow to the race site.
The hotter you are when you line up, the worse it gets for you.
May also wanna do a quick "sneaky ECU reset" before the race. Works wonders for shifting.
Good luck.

Friday night on 231, which is Deer Park Ave gets going after 10 and there are some nice rides besides the vast majority of Honda's and Acura's. Just don't race a silver 996TT Cabriolet. That's my ride!

You know a little exhaust work and some software.

The car is a freak considering the numbers that it makes with nothing too crazy done to it.

I guess "crazy" has different meanings to everyone!

I know Oxygen will be at Best Buy and this week we upgraded the IC pump, ran custom cooler lines, Lambo intake tubes(did custom air boxes, intake tubes, cat by-pass pipes and a CF muffler on a 07 Gallardo last Sat) and purged the intercooler lines with a special additive. Made a HUGE difference on Chris' S600.

Sorry I couldn't help you out with your software you have but it's like going to a restaurant with your own food and asking the chef to cook it.
