Can't stop shredding my air dam
Any suggestions for DIY repairs on cracked air dams?
I cracked it the first day of ownership, and about twice a month I'll clear and pull over a curb , and it will drop on top of the curb when I shut off the engine, making that sickening crunching /tearing sound when I pull away.
Its not a major expense to repair, (about $400) but since I can't seem to figure out how not to park near curbs, it would be in the body shop 365 days/ year.
Any one else habitual destroyers of their lower bodywork?

I Had a customer with the same problem...
Made him a set of HD casters welded to a plate that bolted to the car
It would lift the car on drive ways..rather than take the bumper out

In a way , its the "raise" function thats causing the damage.
I raise the car clearing the curb, go inside, then I forget that the car lowers itself when parked. then in a rush / argument with the kid/wife I forget to re-raise the car, and I tear the airdam when backing out.
I asked the dealer if there was anyway to prevent the car from lowering when parked and he said "nope, thats the way is it." I would be interested if there was a way to disable this "feature" or something we could re-program in STAR
