The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I'm pretty sure, though that the ZR-1 ran Michelin PS2s and the story claims the ACR is running Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.
The ZR-1 may need to add a PSC tire option and take another run.
, but they are a handfull. My point was, the car would have a been even quicker without the gearchange issues.

the Viper Club of America helped fund the cars and the engineers being sent over there. They had a total of 5 hours to do all the work. The driver had never driven the car before, but had lots of 'ring experience. The cars were sent over via open container on a boat - it was a very low budget operation - but they were careful to include the media to have it witnessed independently - something the other folks (ZR1 and GTR did not do)
They had bested the ZR1 time on the second flying lap. I believe that they only did about 5 laps.
The Pilot Sport Cups are r compounds - but not as sticky as a Hoosier R6 / A6 or even a Kuhmo.
the ACR spent a ton of time in the wind tunnel - mostly in the wee hours of the morning - because that's when they can run the high speed tests (power cmomany limits them) and because that's the only time they could get. There's footage of the car in the tunnel at 2 AM. They took EVERY open slot they could. 1000 pounds of downforce, ajdustable shocks and a few other tidbits make this car handle like crazy.
This car was made for the weekend time trial / DE enthusiast. The Dodge engineers know that the fun stuff starts in the twisty bits - and the ACR is built for the road course.
It's the real deal.
Mine's on order.

if they do that GAME OVER!
