New Member Introducing Myself: 2005 Flint Grey E55
Hey guys,
I wanted to give a quick introduction to this new (for me) forum. My name is Mark Chapparone and I just picked up a 2005 Flint Grey E55 with 19,000 miles. Interior is Charcoal/Dark Blue Leather.
I have spent most of my forum time on 6speedonline and M3Forum, and when I had my M5 most of my time was spent on M5Board.
The M3 is for sale now and I couldn't be happier with the E55 so far. The Dynamic and massaging seats make my drive to work a dream and for once in my life I'm actually happy I don't have to drive a manual every day.
The mods on the E55 start this week and I'll get a thread going with pictures to show the progress there..
On to some pictures:
The M5:

THE E55!!:
I'm looking forward to learning all about these cars, looks like there is a lot of knowledge here on this board.
Best,
Mark

2003 E55 Blk/Blk
M3 is a beautiful car but it just needed some more power... I came from a le mans blue with the sport interior, navi, three spoke wheel, and some other options E39 M5 as well as a 911 Carrera and few other toys but the nothing compares to the torque on the e55 monster.

Thanks guys...I already ordered my flat hood badge, got a set of euro impact strips from James@ACG and I'll be getting the rest of my parts from James as well in the next week or so (wheels, lowering module, front lip, trunk lid lip, etc..)

Thanks guys...looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you San Diego and SoCal guys in the near future.
I think the San Diego Cars 'n' Coffee should be fun once they start having it at Balboa Park. I also like going to the monthly SoCal Euro gathering so hopefully I can meet some of you guys there as well.
Best,
Mark

Thanks. I loved both your M's...very clean, tasteful mods. You're planning on picking up an AMG soon as well, correct?

2005 E55
Beautiful cars. I also recently parted with my E39 M5 (TiAg/Black), which I absolutely loved. The E55 has so much more torque, but it also handles like a bigger, heavier car. Both great cars, just very different.
I also have the two-tone charcoal/blue interior in my W209. I really like the fact that the blue is muted, and not as bright as the two-tone E39 interiors.
Look forward to seeing the progress on your W211 mods!

In the M-cars you "feel" the speed you are going, in this E55 you don't really feel that; meaning I would need to be going at a much greater speed for the car to "scare" me and really feel like it's on its edge.
And same with the two-tone. With the M's it's very in your face and bold. I love how Mercedes kept it very subtle with the Dark Blue and Merlot colors, very classy.
Mods will start next week...I got off to a bit of a later start than I had planned (had to extend that factory warranty with a bone stock car haha!!!).
