What a great day for tracking and it was the last "track rental" day of the year. The track was prepared the best I have seen in two years. There were around 15 of us or so and one car did an 8.09 and trapped at 175mph. Wes, it was great to meet you and your AMG is fast...... I finally did get thrown off the track. Hopefully, they will have forgotten about it when I show up next year.

I had four runs with the following 60's:
1.658
1.668
1.685
1.686

Well here is the best run of the day:

60' 1.658
mph 95.93
1/8 7.312
mph 122.59
et 11.362

I also had another run at 11.385.

Sorry to disappoint......There is nobody more dissappointed then myself. I gave it my best this year and just came up short AGAIN. It is a new personal best for me but not what I wanted. I guess that is why I love tracking and modifying the car and taking her to the dragstrip. You never know what will happen when your out there. My car is an awesome piece on GERMAN engineering that has taken me SAFELY down the track over and over again without a problem EVER.

I'm a little burnt out from tracking and looking forward to the off season and getting my thoughts together for next year. I wish all of you attending MIR a safe trip and BROKEN RECORDS.

Here is the link to the run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7eQNCIXEVM

You should have just chimed in right after I had you smashing the record. Your silence made me look worse than I usually do.

I believe rflow ran a non-NOS pass of 11.341 @ 123.81mph. Roland just missed it.

Roland, these are GREAT numbers, congrats man....

Have you ever thought about moving to a bigger pulley (ASP or VRP)? It should help you reach your goal much easier

Great 60' times by the way

Thanks Roland! I had a great time and ended up staying a bit with the RS4 guy, made me happy that I was still beating his times with my 2.4 60 fts. If Tom has any video of my runs I would wicked appreciate if he would send me one or post it up. I wanna hear the noise I made. I hate to type a 13 in the W211 forum but my best if anyone is curious was 13.2@108 with a 2.4 60'. Best mph was 109 and change. I'm comfortable saying that my car should grab 12's no prob without street tires. I felt that so much was lost at the line. The vredsteins were not the most sticky of tires

Look foward to next season Roland, I think you'll see me up there alot, I'm hooked now that I've finally got a taste for drag racing, learned alot.

Congrats on awesome launch consistency Roland - sorry you were just shy of the records. As you say, thats why you love this stuff. If it was easy everyone would be doing it and there would be no challenge.

Albert and Derek are tough acts to follow - while I have never met you, I do know both Albert and Derek and they not only put on awesome shows for us AMG owners, but they are both class acts in real life, as well as forum life.

And its this last bit thats really disappointing me wrt to the turn that the forums are taking.

The guys that really contribute (and by this I mean unselfishly with no agenda) stay quiet and observe the goings on and its sad to see this place degenerate so badly.

Which is why I appreciate your efforts so much and your desire to share with us. Great job Roland - keep up the good work

I'm getting closer and closer to a Quaife. We keep hearing they don't mean much at a track, but when traction is an issue anything that resembles positraction has to help.

Great day!!

I'm speachless siswati......

I do go about my business quitely without much fanfare. I'm a little intimated by folks on the board since I don't have the mechanical/engine knowledge that a lot of folks have so I read and research to catch up and ask a lot of questions. People on this board have helped me out over the past year or so to build my car to get to 11.362.

I have no agenda or gripes with anyone except to share my tracking experience since that is where I may have something to contribute. Living near NED and having the funds and time make it fun for me to track and share results with everyone.

Thanks again on your comment. Very nice gesture on your part and maybe over time we will see this board turn the corner.

Thanks Jangy,

I think the QUAIFE is a great mod to have for a couple of reasons. I think you noticed through my mods what impact it has on my times. Results speak for themselves. For 2,000 its worth it for me to have peace of mind that my **** end is beefed up and helping deliver power to the ground.

Good luck.....

Couple of questions for you Roland.

What stages did you do the car in? I know you initally did a K1, did you go all out to K4 next or add stages here & there?

I guess I'm really curious about cams; I've heard pros & cons on them. Pro: Better mid/high range Con: some loss on the low end. If most of my time is spent simply on the street & not getting over 80 often will I really experience the benefits?

Roland,

I too echo siswati's comments about your efforts, your contributions and the downward spiral the forum seems to be taking in the short time I have been posting here.

I have met you personally and raced side by side with you and your beast. You are a class act and one dedicated dude.

As we discussed this morning, there is always tomorrow....and the next day at the track. You should be proud of your accomplishments thusfar and continue to strive to meet your own goals. Everything else will fall into place.

Look forward to seeing you again at the track. Looks like my schedule might be opening up for MIR

You in for an E55 caravan from the Northeast?
