I've exceeded the W5A580's torque ratings and the trans is on its way out. The 2-3 shift is horrible. I posted a vid in the CLK55 forum a while ago. Either a 55k trans (W5A900) is going in or southern hot rod will build mine to hold a bajillion tq lol

Don't break it before MIR, do you think you can get it fixed/replaced before MIR?

Yes, that is the plan. I will either have a built trans or 55k trans in. I wont let you drive all the way out here and not have some fun

Just my 2 pennies, I would bullet proof your existing tranny.
Would hate for you to spend all this cash, install and have your ECU freak with the new different tranny.
One thing I am learning that is holding us all back from wild modding on these cars, is the ECU from hell.
Damn you ECU!!!!! Damn you all to hell!!!!! (little Heston for ya)

It IS used behind the V-12's.
Our High Torque Capacity NAG1 is behind some of the highest hp. (1,000 rwhp & 1,100 rwtq) street driven vehicles out there. The records are falling each week using our trannys!

Bill- I was told the W5A900 are on the 55's and the W5A1000 were on the V12's Whatever the case may be, I decided to do your trans build for ease of mind and possible future mods Does it come with a warranty? I am sitting at home waiting for my quaife to come in so I can install it and then drive up to Curt to pull the trans. It will be shipped out monday if everything goes according to plan.

It will certainly hold up to your future mods as well.
Eddie and I DO stand behind our products, as we thoroughly tested our NAG1 with the Chrysler guys before it was released to the MB guys.
You have our phone numbers if you EVER have a problem.
I assume you have 2 usable axles if the axle upgrade does not happen before MIR?

Yes I do, and one spare Believe it or not the CLK430 axle is 0.25" thicker than the CLK55 axle but the spline end that goes into the hub is the same size (the weak point). I have a spare CLK430 axle

12 Months, unlimited miles....any broken part or burned clutch will be replaced, no charge.
Hmmm, I did not know that about the CLK430 axle shaft being .25" thicker and then it necks down to the same diameter and spline count that is inserted into the hub.
Kinda strange from an Engineering perspective as every axle I have seen fail in your application fails at the spline to shaft joint.
Oh well....let me see what I can come up with.
The 5.7 Hemi Chrysler (Non-SRT) uses your same arrangement so there is a great benefit for me in redesigning this component.....cost effectively of course.
