LAGUNA SECA
Well I have a choice to make. Do I go to Laguna Seca and drive (track) the new SL 65 BS or do MIR ?
Some of the Florida boys that said "ya lets go" are losing interest in the MIR event and changing their minds, I have cleared my calender for Nov 11-17 but am having second thoughts too. Now this AMG event sounds great, and I am just looking for any other board members that are on the attendant list for Laguna Seca. Who's going?

Even though it's going to be at a track, I seriously doubt they will let anyone "track" the car in the way that you think of it. It will be very controlled.

You took the words right out of my mouth, most of these events are very controlled, most likely you will be sitting b!tch while some guy drives you around the track at 5000 RPM. Most likely the line/wait to get a ride will be longer than the day will allow for. The event is going to be filled with a bunch of MB salesmen that are most likely there for training. I learned my lesson along time ago, these events are usually just overrated fluff.

Thanks for the warnings guys, I know of what you speak, But this is not a regular dealer event (stand in line) or even an AMG Challenge ($1800) event. I am waiting for return correspondence that will completely detail what is what, in no uncertain terms, for the one day, $2750.00 fee.
Jon2007E63P30 I also quired them on access for guests I'll PM you when I have information.

A fleet of AMGs, group of 10 persons, 6 hours track, time in various AMGs, yes you drive.
$2750.00
As of Fri Nov 7 they had at least one opening for the 15-16, PM me and I'll give you the phone number or you can find it in the AMG PL.
Check out Jon2007E63P30's Pics, He was lucky to check out the event early, and got some great shots, and I would expect more will follow!

I went to one of the big meets in SoCal and it was just not worth the trip. I did not learn anything new. Lots of lowered MBs with all sorts of different wheels. VRP was there, but again without anything I could not get in detail over the phone or on the web.
But if I could get 20 AMGs to show up together at the Laguna Seca track, we could likely get some attention from people you can not get access to in any other possible way.
My bet now would be trying this on 11/15-16 would be a bad idea because they will be dealing with real customers, not just the press. This weekend might be great.
