Did ASP pulley= 1/4 mile Cl55 Record???

Took the Cl to HRP tonight for a base run on the 177mm ASP , before adding the 181mm ASP. Used my weather station to record exact temps to set the base DA. I have not kept up with all the 1/4 times recorded on these forums but I thought 11.92@117.43 would be there..

I have a video to post later and actually lined up against the only other benz at the track, a C32..

Temp was 69.7 deg. baro 30.08 and hum. 49% Only made one run, as the roll cage warning was strong from the track official. Decided not to press the issues, as I want to go back soon. Little more launch practice, better weather and low 11.8`s are do-able, but I am sure more mods will come first

The frustrating thing, was the cars weight at a heavy 4575 race weight!! PHAT! Also no time to dial in the 60ft and 1.85short time has room to improve on.. Still had some tire spin and need more time to get pressure and hydraulic (ABS) suspension dialed in..

Just to be clear, I still do not have a tune installed yet. Still very happy!. By the 1/4 mile time and MPH, the car is not losing HP or TQ. That is why I prefer the track over a dyno on these heat sensative motors.. I still have high IAT`s and will work on a new larger H/E soon. I hit 140 deg. IAT plus by 90mph and you can feel some of the pull coming out of the car at half track..Not much but some. Max timing is around 11-12 deg max and around 4-9 after IAT`s hit 140 plus..

PS, the HRP time clock was still old time and was an hour advanced.

Great job!

My best in the CL 55 was 12.06 at 115.+ and that was the best that I've seen documented. I had an ASP pulley, Evosport headers and VRP tune.

My corrected numbers were 9.6 at 163.

No drag radials or slicks! Ran on the tires in the signature (275x40x18) Nitto Invos. They are the new Z rated high performance street tire. Really wish I had room for the 295`s but rims are only 9" wide. Not happy with the 1.85 sixty but a few more dial in runs, Less tire pressure and that should improve..

no need for a bigger pulley.. just need the ECU now.

Trust me, it will make your car a monster.

BTW: I'm thinking you have an older ECU flash file, which might let you keep some of that boost.

My car had (2) 2nd Flashes in 1 year and could feel and data log my car not performing to even stock levels.

I use CARCHIP to data log and my IAT's were on check but timing was still being pulled.

Now clutch engament is smooth and high RPM power is there.

I'm thinking with Tune, you should pick up another 2mph to your trap.

You may be right. Pretty sure I have the factory 03 tune and no reflash.. I decided to try the pulley / 80mm TB and go against the grain. The combo seems to work pretty well so far but only just getting started. I really felt the pulley wake up with the larger TB (even though it is only a little larger)..

Tune? Be happy to have a good tune but just been to hard to get the info needed to move forward there. That is what has held me back and so, I just keep looking at bolt ons. Larger pulley, Larger H/E and X pipe second- cat delete is next. Still re-searching headers to see who`s headers can be cut and modified to give the collector down-pipe diameter I am looking for. All this top secret stuff takes time to sort though..

I would like to do a new mod and track run every week! That would be a nice pace..

Here is the video of the run.. There is a c32 in the right lane. The camera did not zoom but you can hear the announcer call out the 11.92 time and say "wow" "Oh my goodness".. Will get a better camera and picture angle next trip .. I guess he was suprised to see a big sedan be in roll cage territory..
