Selling my Distronic V1
If anyone is interested please PM me. I will let this go for very cheap. I never use this feature as I only drive my car on the weekends to go out to dinner in. I just realized there are some people interested in adding it to there car. PM me if interested.

Are trying to sell your option distronic???
If so: do you know what happens to the car when you take that option out of the car? any idea how well your cruise control will work after that (or rather yet, won't work at all)? Any idea how many malfunctions to scroll through once distronic is removed? Do you ever use ESP, ASR, BAS?
I know the US has some financial problems, but this...

Listen to Steve!
It is more work than it is worth to remove distronic and refit standard cruise than it would be worth. You will need to swap control modules, the shifter surround, the front grill, and possibly the cruise control stalk (don't remember if it is different). You may also have to pull the wiring harness up front if the host car doesn't have it. After this, it will take someone fairly skilled with STAR to get it all to work again or it will constantly read a malfunction in the cluster. If someone offered me $4K, I wouldn't take mine out.

greetingz,
Congrats on the E55 purchase... hopefully you will bring us some new insights into modifying this platform.

My 2002 W211 E220CDI in the netherlands has an E63 steering wheel with WORKING paddle shifters and next month the E55 will get something similar - so...that is kind of easy stuff.

4 wheeled car.
thanks...and just to prevent the E55 owners to freak out - I will not tell how cheap it was...most of the planned modifications will be "the usual" - distronic has already been installed btw (drove 3400 miles in 10 days during my last trip - can't do that without distronic).

Marcus, let's get that steering wheel off the 65 and over to me and give me a few days to mull it over. I would have had it figured out, except I don't feel like buying a steering wheel that won't fit a single car I own.
