One thing I've discovered already is that the dynamic countouring doesn't stay on all the time. I have to make it a point to turn it on when I start the car. Great feature!

Here's something I hope no one ever needs to use - a little tip that I found out completely by accident .. maybe a lot of you knew already. If you're ever in an emergency situation you can press the tele aid button and have 911 services come to your location. I pressed mine by accident and it put me through to an operator ... unfortunately, they could not hear me so they thought I was in trouble and sent a law enforcement vehicle. I suspect they could not hear me because I had retrofitted the NTG 2.5 and the mic wiring is different. I have since disabled my tele aid though.

PS I know this is one of the purposes of tele aid .. but I thought it would only work if you paid for the service.

This is probably a dumb question but is there a magical cheat code that you are supposed to enter to access the convenience options on the cluster? Or am I just missing something? I would like to try out the easy entry/ exit option and see what else is available..

there is...i believe steps are in this thread. I did it on my car, turned on easy entry or what not which moves the steering wheel when i turn the car on or off.

I must have been half retarded when I was trying to find it... I came to the "reset settings" page on the cluster and got scared because I didn't want to reset but the other day I had came to that menu again and pressed the up arrow and got to the menu I needed... 5 months and fifteen thousand miles later and I'm still finding things out about this car.. Awesome

I think if you save your seating memory (M1,2,3) when the dynamic seat is on, it will always be on with that seat position.

For those interested in the AMG logo change, if you install the 4006 update to the head unit you no longer have to choose the AMG_ECE (it's not even an option actually) to get the AMG logo. You can choose US_AMG and it does it but without rebooting, resetting, or clearing/changing anything but the logo.

The 4006 update also does change the audio quality for the better and adds MP3 capability (though I haven't tried it). It's a worthwhile upgrade on a few levels.

Here's something else I discovered only after a few months of driving. Generally I prefer the center display to show my speed. Once I changed it to show the compass direction I was traveling, usually of little interest. It was only then I realized that under the compass heading, it also shows the name of the street you are driving on. RTFM next time, I guess.

Nope, not recent at all. I feel like I recall seeing the update came out in 2006. The only reason you'd get the update is going to a dealer and they install it to resolve an issue, or somehow you specifically knew about it and asked them to do it. They're supposed to charge $12 to update it out of warranty but if you have the files and a blank CD and a little know-how, you can do the update yourself like I did and not have to deal with the dealership at all.

still cant seem to access the Hidden menu via Climate control in my 05 e55

tried the following:
hold "Rest" and "off" for 10 seconds
hold "rest" and "ac" for 10 seconds
hold the driver side "auto" button for 10 seconds

yes i do, but with people with no REST button use another button i forget which one, its somewhere in this thread
