If there is enough interest, I can get one more private rental day in February, and that would be our last Famoso private rental for a long time because starting March, Famoso will be booked all the way until mid October.

What size wheels, what brand? 17 pounds is very light for an aluminum wheel. My Dymags (19x11) weigh in at just over 15 pounds and they are made out of CF and magnisium.

I thought the Dymags were lighter I think my 18" HRE C21 comp wheels are real close to that. I will talk to HRE Monday morning to get the #'s. But the Dymags look great.. I may have my HRE's for sale with new MT's 305 rear and Nitto 555 front.. black centers polished lip

I'm positive of their weight, I have weighed them myself. I highly doubt your HRE's are anywhere close to 15 pounds, unless you are running 17's. Even the new HRE wheels with the Dymag carbon fiber barrel weigh 19 lbs 7oz in a 19x10 fitment and the 20x10 weighs in at over at over 21 pounds per wheel. My 17" Forgline drag wheels are nearly 18 pounds and they are lighter than anything HRE makes or sells.

Very nice, my cheapo combo weigh in at 42lbs a side. That's not bad considering $115 bucks gets you a wheel and $189 get you a bad a$$ hoosier.

What do the front skinnies you talked about weigh? And what size tire you recommending for it?

My 18X10 HRE comp wheels are 19lbs and the 18X9s are 18lbs. The dymags may not seem like they are much lighter at 15, but 3lbs makes a difference.

Your car sways due to mixing bias ply tires with radials. Stick with one or the other and yor swayng problem should go away.
Those are MT ET Street RADIALS. There is a difference.
That is almost definitely causing the instability/swerving.

Usually if you get better traction your mph goes down. If you spin mph goes up
I would stay away form 19's since tires selection isn't very good.

Without getting too technical it's because your getting to the 60' marker quicker with no spin and their is less track for you to build speed. Versus spinning the first 10' feet and then hooking up and having 1310' to build speed.

I took the 800 mile trip to Sacramento and back yesterday. My traction was not very good in general, but I had a couple of decent launches. with a 1.823 sec 60' time, my best run was a 12.076 @ 116.546 mph. I later had a run with a 1.775 60' time, but my car hesistated after the 60' time so I had to back off the throttle 2x. That failed run netted me a 12.4 @ 116.6 mph. Had it of been complete, I would have been in the 11's on just tune/gas/tires. Afterwards, traction just went down hill. Interestingly enough, the 300C SRT8 there was getting 11.6-11.7 sec ETs at 115mph, and he said he loved his MT ET STreet Drag Radials. It waS not crowded at all. I made about 19 passes!

Mark with the SRT guys said there was about 24 cars there at any given time..... I love it when the track is not too crowded, that's what we're aiming for at Famoso Dude, your 60' time is very impressive , those tires must be really good Everytime I've been to Sacramento, the traction was so terrible that I gave up on that place. I even spoke to the previous owner about this problem when we were thinking about doing a private rental up there, and he was telling me that the reason he sold it was it needed over $500,000 in reconditioning. The new owners, of course, didn't care, and left it as is.

Looks like your car is running very strong , what kind of times did you get on street tires with tune and gas on your previous car?

That's our buddy Mau, he and I are have been climbing down each others throats for over a year with low times for our classication. His car is very strong and hes a smart racer.

The guy with the SRT8 was really cool. He came walking up to my car, asked how I was running and talked to me about the M/T ET Street Radials that the really likes. 275/40/17. He said he used to run the ET Street Drag tires, and hated how they were unstable. He said unless the track is perfect, he gets better times with the radials. Interestingly enough, traction was poor enough that the poor guy with the brand new black Z06 had a hard time getting out of the 13's !

I wonder what kind of engine mods the needs to be trapping more than 115mph. Just intake/tune/exhaust?

You can see the Nittos, that I couldn't really get below 12.10 in the qtr with. My best time in the sedan the other week was 11.99 at 117.5mph, running basically the same setup in each car. Just: Tune/Gas/Tires. However I used Sunoco 104 this time, and in the sedan I used VP MS109, I wonder how much difference that would make though.

Well it's a ton. Basically it's a stock 6.1 rotating assembly. So heads, exhaust, ported intake, cam, torque converter, a ton of custom tuning and misc parts.

He and I are the fastest NA 6.1's in the country and the battle now is to see who reaches a 11.5 first. Famoso will be an interesting day if we have decent weather.

Wow, I guess I should be happy to run a 11.99 @ 117.5mph with just tune/gas/tires! Soon as I get traction issues sorted out, 11's are a given in my coupe also.

Yeah traction is always an issue at Sacramento..... but I'm still shocked that the Z06 and the supercharged Saleen did not get out of the 13s I mean even if they started very slow to get the car rolling, and then pushed it, they should've at least gotten high 12s, right?

By the way, looks like the camero did well.

I'm not, traction was so bad a couple weeks ago, even my 4400 sled with my 200+ pound butt in it was sliding around mid track. It wasn't until the end of the day that traction got decent at best.

Hotrod, ya it takes a whole lotta messing with these rides to get them to move. Of all the members we have that race, there are only 6 NA6.1's in the 11's. And 4 of those guys only got there because they caught a great DA.

We have one guy, stock magnum with no options, CAI, exhaust, DR's and tuner. His freak hit a -2800ft day at Atco and nailed a 11.826 @ 115. Other then that, everyone has been all through their cars.

You guys have some real monsters out there, I'm very impressed.

Let me know if anyone is in the market for my 275/40/17 Nitto 555R Extreme Drag Radials. I just ran a 12.076 @ 117.308 on them a couple of weeks ago at Sacramento. They look failry worn, but really are only supposed to be 6/32" brand new. Look at the Nitto website and see how shallow the tread is on the brand new one in the picture. Mine have 4/32 on the edges and 2/32 in the middle. So realistically they still have plenty of drag strip runs left on them. Usually they run about $400/pr. Since they are essentially over 1/2 worn, I will sell them for $100/pr. Great for someone that just needs some tires for a couple of events, but doesn't want to buy brand new tires. These are what reduce my 1/4 mile times from a 12.6-12.8 to the 12.2-12.4 range in normal street driving, pump gas. $100 is for the tires only. NOT THE WHEELS! But if you want K1s, the wheels are on sale at Tire Rack for $175 each now. Hopefully someone in Southern California might be interested close to Ventura County, or I'm willing to drive to SFV.

We need to have all the money collected by January 12th because I will be meeting with track owner on January 13th at 11:00 a.m.

However, I will move the deadline one week sooner so that I can allow some of the guys on the waiting list a chance, as they've been PMing me like crazy ready to pay .

So lets do this.....

Update: After January 5th, all unpaid spots will be open to everybody on a first-come-first-serve-basis like we did last time. Whoever sends payment first, gets the spot until the list is full.

By the way, we have a couple of cancellations on the main list and a couple of cancellations on the waiting list already, so I'm still confident that we'll get almost everybody in
